Well i can't say if it's true or not, because as you know, i hate BACON, so i don't have that kind of cheat software on my computer, so i can't confirm .
They disbanded TRI just so they are not in the same alliance with you... And as for cheats...lol...worse cheat is being a nano f*gg running away from ships with guns, and calling yourself a pvp-er when u kill a hulk...
Wow, you must be bitter. I bet our nano gang did kill your npc Raven somewhere .

The thing that gets me is *quite* how angry the bacon program gets people - I have this vision of people sitting behind their keyboards , their screen lit faces red with fury, veins bulging as their blood pressure soars....
You do realize that it only gives the same info as local - albeit in a more convenient form? People could run away from you before. Or is just you now have an excuse for your own failings - "that ***** must have been using bacon - it's not my fault!"

if this could also be usable on macroers id imagine a swift drop in their use.
Please, PLEASE make this happen. Every single night before I go to bed, I pray that someone will show up at my house with a weapon in their hand and give me an excuse to test Washington State's commitment to their "hold your ground" laws.
Other than that, BACON is still working. BACON will NOT be updated to undo whatever CCP does to the log server, so enjoy it while it works. ONLY download the code from bacon.gunfleet.com, and verify the CRC from the BACON threads to ensure you have the correct code.
I'm so glad that NightmareX is still QQ ing about BACON. I think I can get to sleep tonight, even without someone to shoot on my doorstep.

What the heck are you running EVE on, a pocket calculator?
We've tested down to 1.8 GHz Celerons running 1MB of RAM on Vista, and BACON doesn't lag appreciably. I almost want you to go to the support forums and report your config, just so we can figure out what is going on.

*laughs* Nice catch!
1 GB of RAM. And it works, but it's... slow.

The main complaint is not the audible warning it makes, just rather that it takes a 5minute modification to cause your client to Ctrl+q whenever someone enters local.

Also, CRCs are not the best checksums.

Sorry, I was sure I corrected that yesterday. The correct url is: bacon.gunfleet.org. Yesterday was not my bright and shining day on the forums. I mis-typed 1GB as 1MB, and forgot where our website was.
Regarding CRCs - Gunfleet honestly is working on other projects now. We consider BACON finished, and are only updating for bugs/other support issues. As such, I'm not assessing a lot of effort into the BACON product at this point... If you would like, post a suggestion for a better/more well known checksum, and I'll see what I can do to get it implemented. For most other support issues, visit the forums off the above URL.

Weeeellll... I don't see any CRCs anywhere in any thread, now that I look. :P
(P.S. If you do want verification, however, a md5sum is standard.)

Actually, we did use MD5, and they are at the bottom of Cesar's post. (above) Putting MD5s on our site makes no sense, as if we get hacked, then the hackers simply change the checksums and slipstream any code they write into our process. Putting MD5s here, said hackers would have to take down both our site, and EVE-O. Multiple layers of security = good.

That was my old laptop. It was a Dell M60. I'm 90% sure it was running a NVIDIA« QuadroTM FX Go1000 with 128MB of DDR memory. I'd have to confirm that when I got home.

Sounds like an interesting tool. Just wondering about one thing, the checksum?
Is that security functionality implemented? Could you give instructions on how to use it.
Other than that, im glad i stumbled into this thread, and thnx.

Originally by: Kuolematon My corp uses BACON and it's still working flawlessy. Perhaps you didn't update to new version?
Well as [GUN] Reuser once mentioned, the BACON is a one time setup program, from then on, it auto-updates...
It might be my own mistake, I switched off the announcements for empire, cept for war targets.
And no I wouldn't be bitter if BACON died, I still think it is/was good addition to EVE. It was simply a sound notification of local channel(which in my own opinion is much worse tool than the BACON). It also made announcements of friends entering local, if u wanted that setup.
U were able to minimize local so u can actually look at the space around you, not the chat window that covered 1/5 of your screen... So...USING EARS INSTEAD EYES? That so much different? Or u prefer listening to Cradle of Filth while playing EVE?
Get a bigger monitor? and Cof 4tw!
