It most certainly isn't. I ordered my McChicken with bacon, and the buggers dinged me for it, it's on the bill and everything, yet when I open up my sandwich, what did I find?
NO BACON.

Thats cos "mc"Chicken Sandwiches dont have the option of bacon (at least in the UK). It's the Chicken Legend with Bacon (with Spicy Tomato Salsa or Cool Mayo  )

LOL, would be so funny if that was true.
Well i can't say if it's true or not, because as you know, i hate BACON, so i don't have that kind of cheat software on my computer, so i can't confirm.

Tried it once for about an hour out of curiosity. It lagged out my system to hell and the pings and burps it belted into my headphones every 5 seconds drove me totally insane. I'm a much happier camper without it... to those who never tried it - you didn't miss much

I think BACON didn't make any announcements today, I was passing a lot of empire systems, not one announcement about neutrals...

My pet pig breathed a sigh of relief. Every time he heard someone mention BACON, he hid in the corner. Now I hope he can read the forums with me without getting scared cos hopefully that program is dead.

If people want to have a program that alerts them to a hostile rather than actually watch local themselves then they should be in an empire noob corp where they belong. Also, the people that use this kind of stuff are never going to learn how to be safe.

You allready have the upper hand with local/scanning system/poses/cloaks.
At least he can call himself a pvper, something you will never be able to do.

This happened to me when I ordered a "Big Tasty with Bacon".
Though, given the IQ of the staff in my local McDonalds, the fact only the bacon was missing amazed me.

Bacon is great, in fact I just wrote a program for my incar GPS that alerts me with customizable sounds whenever a Police radar, Volvo Driver or taxi Driver is nearby. I called it Pork Chop

CCP should hire a man with a baseball bat to drive to your house when BACON programs detected in the background. Then proceed to re enact choice scenes from reservoir dogs.
if this could also be usable on macroers id imagine a swift drop in their use.

Well as [GUN] Reuser once mentioned, the BACON is a one time setup program, from then on, it auto-updates...
It might be my own mistake, I switched off the announcements for empire, cept for war targets.
And no I wouldn't be bitter if BACON died, I still think it is/was good addition to EVE.
It was simply a sound notification of local channel(which in my own opinion is much worse tool than the BACON). It also made announcements of friends entering local, if u wanted that setup.
U were able to minimize local so u can actually look at the space around you, not the chat window that covered 1/5 of your screen...
