So I did a rather extensive forum search and couldn't find any current fitting advice for the Pilgrim.
Now I am generally pretty savvy with ship fittings, and don't have issues setting things up to fully use the ship...but with the pilgrim...
I can't decide if I should speed tank, and guarantee I will stay in my sweet spot, or passive armor tank to give some durability...
I will not plate it, as the ship relies on its ability to stay outside of web range, and in neut range.
Any advice is appreciated, except posts about flying the curse or another recon.
I know the pilgrim has its flaws but in the right hands, it has its place.

Well, if you want to use the neuts you might as well just forget about staying out of web range. Even with t2 neuts you only get 12.5 km range, which is exactly the range of an overheated t1 web.
You have to prepare for fighting while webbed really, which means tanking like a BS, which the pilgrim can do, and killing the target fast, which you can only do with a gang.
I wont tell you any specific setups, but you can fly the pilgrim like a BS in terms of damage and tank, which enables you, in conjnuction with its EW, to quickly demolish an unaware or occupied target.
Lastly, even recons work better in a gang than solo. 5 pilgrims > 1 pilgrim.

i guess when u play jenga, then its one block of wood > loads of wood, thats the only situation i can think of were less > more lol

I tell you what... the next one who opens a thread asking for Pilgrim and/or Curse will get a personal wardeck fo rthe rest of his EvE-career.

mwd, point, web, inj, rest for ew
plate, rep i u can fit it.. some hardeners
some rigs

Well mate, I searched under Pilgrim, as thats what I was looking for. Sorry I didn't search for every viable alternative to threat titles in order to please you.
But, thanks for your input Grytok, you really know what your talking about when it comes to pilgrim fits.
