CCP Hammerhead	Posted - 2004.05.02 21:00:00 - [1] You need to either install from CD then patch with this file: 934-1413 or you need to download and install the full 1413. Full 1413 Then you go to the test patches page and patch up from those patches.

khainestar	Posted - 2004.05.06 09:47:00 - [5] Edited by: khainestar on 06/05/2004 09:48:39 The best way to install this version and not interfear with your live build is 1. rename the folder with your live install in. e.g. C:\program files\ccp -> c:\program files\ccp live build 2. install the 1413 version from the download or the CD version. 3. rename the new CCP folder to something else e.g. C:\program files\ccp -> c:\program files\ccp test build 4. rename the original folder with your live install in. e.g. C:\program files\ccp live build -> c:\program files\ccp 5. patch the version in the c:\program files\ccp test build directory. It worked fine for me I have had no errors or crashes. I can now access both the test and the live server with no problem. edit: spelling mistaeks ----------------------------------------------------- Pain. Looks great on other people. Its what there for.

I'm sure there will be new patches (soon), but for now this is the only way. There is also a new versioning scheme. Version numbers are composed of Major.Minor.BuildNumber. Tranquility/Live(release) is currently 1.11.1424. Entropy/Test(release) is also on 1.11.1424. Chaos/Dev(castor) is currently on 1.11.1426. Sputnik(shiva) is on 2.01.1513 (and currently not public).

Needless to say, that did not make me very happy. As I write this I'm downloading the 'full 1413' - I hope this fixes it. Vision without action is a daydream Action without vision is a nightmare

Hellek	Posted - 2004.05.08 23:54:00 - [11] unfortunately no, for me it worked without problems (installing full 1413 and then patching). You need to know that you have to run Eve once before patching so that all folders are created. No need to log in or anything, just start it and close it. If you have done that and it did not help, you could try redownloading the patch, maybe the download was somehow corrupted (just the patch, not the full 1413 as you said you tried it with disk install as well anyway)

Chepe Nolon	Posted - 2004.05.09 11:19:00 - [13] Just reporting a bug in the updater: If you are installing 1413 from scratch and then try to patch it, you will get an error. You need to create the cache folder manually under the eve folder. Just FYI.

The way I always did it is mirror the installed copy of EVE in to a folder called 'EVE - CHAOS', then patch that chaos client to the current build used on chaos. Now... this doesn't work because there is no 1424 -> 1425 patch only the 1423 -> 1425, which of course is not compatible with 1424. So would it be too much trouble to ask for a 1424 -> 1426 patch?

Ok, I have version 1.11.1426 The Patch page says the patch is called 1.25.1426 - 1.25.1515 When I run it I get this error: Incorrect version, this patch file should be applied to version 1 but the client found at c:<snip> is version 1426 wtf? Can someone tell me why this is happening? If a GM reads this, could you be so kind as to let 'em know this is happening? Thanks a bunch. T. -- always look on the bright side of the cloning facility.
