Only megacorps or very rich individuals will be able to get those....
I predict, if they get realeased most of those players that have the skill, will get one
Their is alot of wealth hidden out there, some of us, have planned for shiva, and we will be ready for the content of that patch. So Say I. Einheriar Ulrich of the Bloodline of Einheriar.

If the Titans are going to be able to carry frigates and possibly cruisers are we going to have to worry about corps going out to roid belts and strip minning them? I mean if you take your Titan into a nicely loaded 0.0 belt what's to stop them from stripping it down to dust?

Why should we want to prevent them from being able to do that?

When Titans do eventually come out I'm guessing that they will include the mobile refining plants that we've heard about.
If it were me designing them then I would put in a new type of slot, something after high-slots which can be used for things like hanger bays to dock other ships, or a refining module, etc, but - that's me 8)

Pulling something towards you (remember tractor beam)
they could say "your ship is being towed in side the station"

Well i was under the impression Titans were coming out with Shiva, otherwise how do you transport and deploy all the deployable station components? (unless towing comes in i suppose).

Titans are over grown indys with 8/8/8 in slots. They have weak shields and armor. Its going to be real funny when some noob tries to use them for anything but mining or hauling.

I can't imagine Titans having less hit pts than a BS.
The thought of a Multi-Billion ISK ship (That took months to assemble) having the honor of going up in flames first during a fleet battle.... --------------

Everything I've seen and heard about titans point to 25,000+ hp for all systems, including 25,000+ for powergrid and insane CPU. Factor in the capacitor of about 10 battleships combined and you have a beast that can only be destroyed by a fleet.
Think of this setup:
8x tachyon beams 3x XL shield booster 3x tac shields of your choice 2x shield boost amplifier 8x power diag 10x heavy drones (with, I'm assuming, a fleet in reserve)
This setup can continuously heal as much shield damage as a fleet of about 10 battleships can dish out at once. The eight tachs can dish out more damage than any ship in the game.
TRUST me, I don't think these babies will be gimpy in combat. With the rumored price tag of 50 billion isk, I doubt anybody will be taking one out for a Sunday stroll without a massive escort, however.

I strongly think that the slots should be redefined due to these next series of ships coming out. There should be no way any of the ships right now be able to hold as much as a titan. The pure size of it would allow it to mount a whole lot of stuff. I figure the slots should all increase up to 10 max to reflect the awesome size of the titans. And for the new uber battleships coming out I think their slots need to be a bit more advanced for each of the races ships as well. for instance. Amarr ships have a huge amount of high slots as is. Would a dreadnaught still have the same firepower a Apoc would have? or the same number of turrets. I assume of all things their shields armor structure powergrid and capacitor will be much greater then the battleships. We all know though it just much matter of those if you don't have the slots to utilise the ships statistics. Otherwise the armagedon would be more useful if it wasn't so limited in what it could do compared to it's larger cousin the apocolypse. Also with the calidari Scorpian. The titan would be the most advanced vessel in space would it too have just the 8 slots a scorp would have in defense and the support of itself and the fleet? just a few things for thought

Originally by: shivan As i have seen some stats for titans, (dont ask me where i cant remember and it was a while ago) they will have less hit points than a BS, however the minmatar titan has 8 high, with 8 turrents and 8 mid and 8 low. It had a cargo bay of roughly 500k, thats not enough space to carry 1 bs, but pleny for a fleet of crusier and frigetes.
I seriously doubt they'd have 8, 8, & 8, but *IF* they did, you'll see people using 'em for AFK mining in Empire space.
It'd *REALLY* suck to lose a Titan.

Thake another look at this Link. As u will se on the stats of the titan. It only gots 2000 capa and 600 cpu so my question: How will u bring this 8 guns and 3 x'larg boosters online (requires kinda 1400 cpu) and how will u use them longer than 10 sec?? (this titan got even only the halv of capa(s as a normal ship) I know that this stats arent the one wich the titans wil have when they go live, but they give quite an idea what they will be. Heavy shilds, weak armor, weak fire power (unless u use missiles), giant cargo, and the jumpdrive ;)

Edited by: Xelios on 04/05/2004 15:40:49 I had the oppertunity to fly a Titan in Chaos about a week ago (a Leviathan) and all I can say at this point is they need to do some more work on it. It moved very sluggishly but it was being bounced around by drones like styrofoam. =/
As for weak shields, when I flew it the Titan had 500,000 shields, but that could have been just for testing, and if not it could change since they're still in development.

Titans stats when i looked only had 650CPU and 20-25k power grid dont think tht will work some how

You might as well name the models Magnet 'cause that's what they're going to be, every piece of metal in the known universe will be drawn in to destroy it, yes even metal from way over at SWG.

Titans won't be introduced anytime soon I'm afraid and definitely not in shiva. The earliest would be next year as there is still a lot of things that need to be done before they arrive. Also remember that all the other classes will be available before the titans become available, such as battlecruisers and dreadnoughts. About the only thing finished now is the texture which actually hasn't been touched for quite some time. The caldari titan hasn't even been scaled yet (although it looks awfully cool and by far the best looking caldari ship . It will essentially be a big moving docking station. Slot ,shield, armor and CPU/Power hasn't been decided yet and will undoubtly change. So keep on dreaming, perhaps one of you will be able to fly in one in the future

Yup... with the placeholder stats they are definatly super indys... I was one of the fortunates to snaffle 2 Titans back in beta (and no it wasn't hacked resource files to make a bs look like a titan). I flew the Gallente and the Minmatar ones.
To be honest though they are so buggy that they will most definately change a lot before they are released so any guesses now as to what they will be like is pretty much worthless. Three battleships killed the Solteur I had but it took AGES for them to kill off the last little bit of structure heh.
So those of you waiting for Titans had better watch out for the Porcine Aviators which will be released before Titans are added to Eve... -------------------------------------------

Nobody knows what a titan is really going to be like, except the devs. Its definitely going to be a tough thing to kill, though. And from what the devs say in the 'planned features' thing, its going to be horrible at short range, but perhaps good at long range combat.
