At first Jet Cans were and exploit, but were accepted by CCP.
If you choose to mine in a can, that is outside your ship, you are choosing to risk that ore. It's basic Risk v. Reward. You can ALWAYS just mine and when your hull gets full, go to station and unload.

I feel the need to explicitly state for those that aren't actually reading, this increased aggression timer would be to motivate miners to retaliate. It's in no way protection for miners, it simply adds more risk to completely risk-free isk making.
Agree with Galactic Overlord in both sentiment and solution of extending aggro. Let's make it riskier for the theif, not risk-free for the miner.

It used to be that stealing from a can caused nothing to happen. CCP finally gave in by letting you shoot someone who steals from your can. Soooo... how about you shoot them? oh, your hulk can't put up a fight? Try a scrammer and that good drone bay. How about a stealth bomber? Those hurt pretty good. What do you realy want? To sit there on a roid all day without any interaction from other people? Currently EVE-ONLINE does not come in an OFFLINE version. You were meant to work for your income, meaning risk. You either bring your cargo hold to the station and reduce your risk and income or you risk having it stolen or you being tricked into a fight. If you're greedy enough to maximize your income by jetting ore and then forum spamming that you don't want to defend it from the guy who knows all about your kind then you get exactly what you deserve.

Even as a miner I can't support this topic.
If everything stated were to happen, every player and their dog would be mining. I know I would be training my dog to mine for me.

Holy crap.... so many replies and not even a single person supports this...
I propose we move the "hand" thing to Features and Ideas forum!!!
Oh, and OP, no I do not support - with the exception of maybe larger cans, but needs to be a drawback to them or something,

The timer is FIFTEEN minutes. How long does it take you to dock, wait 30 seconds, change ships, undock, warp back to belt? Eh? If you can't do that in 15 minutes, you're not going to do it in 20, 30, 45 or 60 minutes, either.
"But maybe the can flipper warped away by the time I can get back to the belt! :("
Okay, so what makes you think that you'll be able to find him in 60 minutes if you can't find him with the remaining 12 minutes? He will either use his D-Scanner to see what you're flying and if he feels he has a fighting chance, he'll come back and engage you, OR he'll dock up and wait out the timer, OR he'll just leave the system and go on about his can flipping business leaving you blueballed with you're uber Hyperion that you brought out to fight off that pesky Condor that flipped your can ane blew up your ore.
Extending the timer just takes the 'dock up and wait out the timer' away - he'll leave the system altogether, to flip someone else somewhere else.
The aggro timer is fine, too - extending it is almost as silly an idea as the OP tbh.

Why do you think that mining vessels have larger cargo holds? Don't put your new furnature on the front lawn unless you expect people to mess with it.

Jet Can mining is unintended? I guess that makes the Roqual and it's tractor beam boost a salvaging ship?
I don't support the proposed solutions but had he said - fleet members are allowed to attack the can flipper (not just corpies) - Now that would be fun
