I bought a new flat panel display and am enjoying EVE in all its widescreen glory now.
Except...
The monitor's native resolution is 1920x1200. EVE plays just fine at that except 1920x1200 is the FULL screen resolution. In Windowed mode the bottom of the display covers the task bar at the bottom of the screen. If I drag the window up so the top edge of the window is just barely showing I still miss the EVE Time off the bottom of the screen. Of course this also mean I cannot easily switch programs by clicking in the task bar as it is still covered up.
Yes I can manually key around the various programs but it is inconvenient and frankly I can do that in Full Screen too which this practically is.
On my old CRT I could choose a resolution that allowed the window to fit perfectly like any other Windows App.
So what gives?

if you run NVidia, then use their tools to create a custom resolution ...i.e 1920,1580 [I do 1880x1580 on one profile] -- BIG Lottery, BIG Deal, InEve 5th Anniversary Lottery

Eve windowed mode only lets you pick a window size coresponding to a resolution that the graphics card / monitor supports. The trick is to configure a custom resolution that will fit on-screen then use windowed mode and choose that resolution. Easy with nvidia, don't know about ATI.
For even better results, use EveMover or similar tool to remove window borders. That way you can have Eve fill the monitor except for the task bar. I do that and have Eve running at 1920x1170

Its truth that since 1.1 patch i think the resolution options have become less which is sad.
I used to have 1280*720 for my wide it was just fine, to let my taskbar show. Now this option is gone, and im stuck at 1280*768...
In other rezs the issue is similar, never enough space for taskbar...

Windows will add a title bar to most programs that are not run full-screen. When you run EVE in windowed mode at 1900 x 1200 your actual viewing area is indeed 1900 x 1200; however you also get the bar added to the top which will push the bottom of the EVE window just off screen.
RaTTuS' suggestion of making a custom resolution is the best way to go with this if your video card supports it. ____________________________ I break things.

Get evemon and set it to move EVE slightly, so it looks fullscreen and you see the clock. I use it all the time :-)
EVEMon Tools-> Options-> General Tab , tick Relocate windowed eve to fill a monitor
Enjoy.

This was the BEST Idea I've found.
I had the same problem, trying to go into windowed mode at a reduced resolution.
Quite frustrating, actually, that in full-screen mode I have a selection of resolutions I can pick from, but when switching to windowed mode, I can only choose my native resolution (by default). I honestly thought it would be the other way around...
Defining a custom resolution is a good workaround, but I hope this is on the TO DO list at CCP.
Cheers, Talaan
