two weeks ago I was working for a security agent and whilst the rewards and bonuses were rubbish, the rat cans usually had some fairly good stuff in them, merc commanders especially used to drop some good cruiser size named stuff 90% of the time. I then went and worked a hualage agent for a while, and a few days ago came back to my security agent as I wanted to see just how much harder the kill missions had been made. I was pleasently surprised to see that they were now about the right difficulty with some decent sized rats. after 2 or 3 days though I was a bit upset to find that not a single merc comander, not ONE in about 8 or 9 missions involving them, had dropped a can, let alone had anything decent in them, I was lucky to get a named frigate module from a serpentis drugs baron (usually just 100 units of ammo). Suddenly the best drops Im getting are from rouge pirate escorts, and they're usually droping 10 heavy missiles, a couple of nearly useless unnamed modules and if I'm REALLY lucky, a hammerhead drone what the hell is going on with that? and why weren't we told if CCP were going to nerf the main reason for using a security agent????

I'm forced to ask the same question. I've noticed that my kill missions are leaving less and less loot these days, and what is dropped isn't very impressive. I don't need anymore civillian shield boosters thank you.

I've noticed a change, too. Merc Commanders now drop good stuff one of three times. And very often, 1 tech 2 component, 1 drone, and BLOODY CAPACITOR BOOSTERS,err sorry. The others really all drop only worthless stuff. But hey, at least the agents still give me implants. |

Man, this is bad. I've been aspiring to be a agent runner and now that I have been able to use Level 3 agents I'm hearing implants and loot drops been nerfed, in a brutal one-two knockout nerf combo. Is this the classic case of developer over-reaction or what? I mean, if they wanted to make agents less lucrative then couldn't they have done a more subtle change and then monitor how that goes before moving on? First, the missions were made harder, not so bad for the vets waiting for a challenge L4 may provide, but for a guy just coming in from L2 it's quite the change. Next, implants frequence reduced- apparently by alot. Finally, the rats you kill now allegedly drop worse loot. One of these changes alone would probably be sufficient, and upon monitoring how that change effected the system maybe they can move on to another change, but all 3 changes at once? That's rough!

Perhaps would should hear from the devs before we start jumping to conclusions and pointing fingers...

Its not like that. I've been doing level 3 kill missions for 5 days straight. I've got two memory implants, and very good loot, Arbalest heavy launcher, Scout 250s,expensive skill books, and very good rewards, all kinds of good stuff.Loot has changed, but it did not decrease. And I can't say implant frequency has decreased. |

I picked up 2 carbine 250mms and a scout 250mm from merc commanders saturday while running missions in Nonni... And I ran up against 4 more of them by sunday night... it looks like it's about a 50% chance of junk drop.
And can anyone confirm if that level 3 Quality 15 Caldari Navy agent in nonni actually gives implant missions? >.< 5 mil in missions rewards later and I haven't gotten anything more interesting than 3 condors.

I think this "nerf" is to prepare the system for the lvl4 agents.

Hm, I did a level 3 mission to kill Shazyr yesterday. He's in a frigate and dropped a named battleship afterburner

ive picked up a few decent things, but yes i would agree that the drop quality has lessened. i did a few kill missions before the patch, and i picked up a bunch of tech 2 construction parts and the like, even a skill book. now i hardy see any of that. its just less frequent it seems. but oh well, the pay is still fine.

I do LOTS of agent missions - in fact i do little else - I have done in excess of 300-400 missions since the patch - so agents have DEFINATELY had their implant mission removed.
On the subject of loot drops - i have found this is TOTALLY random - but in groups - if that makes sense. The 4 rogue pirate escorts is an example - one day they will drop a hammer head, 10 100 cap boosters + missiles EACH and the next day they drop 10 missiles or something equally useless - This is not perminant and the next time i did the mission is back to other stuff.
In my experiance Merc commanders ALWAYS drop at least 1 tech 2 component and nomally a name decent module.

So not despair oh noble agent runners. The tech2 component droppings now pay better and are expected to pay even better. One dude told me he got a bonus of 30 graviton reactors the other day. That is one cool million isk minimum with just quickselling.
