well all what they take down mainly is hulks, covetors, retrievers and such....
so when a guy after a long training and saving gets a hulk he thinks he is done well allmost so when that same hulk get suicide killed by goonswarm (or ccp in my opinion) he has to start again
saving....
i dont say it IS ccp but it could be ccp's way of keeping isk amounts in control..:)
anyway why they can just go on to kill in high sec ? why concord interventions arent made faster?
because its a pvp game? yeah right
hehe and now the flaming and others may start or not i dont care but that's the kind of thoughts i had recently
and BTW i dident loose a hulk or other mining ship to goonfleet.....but now hm...its pending i guess haha....

Everyone has to learn the lesson sometime. Most are lucky enough for it to happen before they're in a hulk but as with all randomized events, someone's going to be unlucky.

I am wondering, if there are regions in high sec, where hulk ganking happens more frequent then other regions? anyone knows some kind of statistic about that?
second question is, does hulk ganking still happen that often? or is it more like a tale that is told to miners ?

if someone knows a save region and post it here it wont be save for long i am afraid :)
well i still happens....as long there are hulks worth 1 bil + flying around not only the goonfleet will tackle them but also all that yars :)

i dont think they are doing it for the money, but alot more for the grief, cause I dont say they need the money out of those ganking ops...imho its kinda sad, that some new players that got their first hulk recently get popped out of it 2 days later, just because some guys are borded and dont know what to do with theit time.....

yep you are right, some do it only to grief goonfleet at least, pirates mostly choose their target more for the mods so for the isk, well the experienced pirates.
and its really sad to see a new player who is proud and happy he got that long awaited hulk and loose it so fast....

Saying that CCP must be in bed with the Goons is clearly going to get you called a conspiracy theorist and tinfoil-hat wearing mofo around here.
On the other hand, suggesting that CCP is less concerned with its mining population than with rampant market instability and will generally tend to protect isk-sinks, even at the expense of part of its player base, does not seem so far fetched.
At times, invention has been like this and, for many ships at least, there's almost no financial incentive for invention at all. Rather than attempt to correct this--by, for example increasing the drop rates on decryptors--CCP "allows" a goodly portion of its invention population to blithely loose their shirts inventing stupid stuff for less profit than they'd get selling their datacores and decryptors.
What's apparently important to CCP is macroeconomics, as their hiring of an economist would seem to support. Hapless newbs in expensive mining rigs losing their shirts has never really been a higher-order concern, right?
I guess the question is whether it should be and whether this player council has any sort of critical mass to advocate for miners or any other underclass in eve.

conspiracy theorist....tinfoil-hat wearing mofo ok why not i can live with it hahaha... if u knew how much i care about what i am called....you wouldent have bothered hehe..
for me it seems your second paraph is also correct..
and then saying miners equip their hulks to well....? buying a 100 mill+ ship and under equip it so that
u dont have all the hulk has to offer....well why buy it then? you will end up with a hulk doing the same or a bit better then a covetor:} ok not saying that they should but billions in it but...

The Hulk is not a weak ship. Proper shield skills, should provide great deal of resistance. And there are tactics listed to get concord presence.
I frequently check the web page of the jihadswarm. For now they are far away enough.
And the suicide everybody. My friend had the misfortune to meet them. The one closest when they warp in, is screwed.
Since they declared minimitar space as holy space (read; they will not attack miners there). I suspect that the goons wanna influence the price of Ice (since they mostly gank ice belts). Maybe they have minimitar POS and Capitalships and want cheap fuel. Or maybe they like to gank miners.
I love the depth of the game.

I wonder how in hell you can put "billions" in it anyhow? A diamond encrusted hulk anyone? 3x modulated strip IIs - 10 mil tops, 3x passive T2 shields - 4 mil at a stretch (for all 3), 2x mining laser upgrade IIs - 2.5 mil or so. Twin cargo rigs will cost more then the rest of the hulk, including the hulk itself but that's it, and you don't need to have cargo rigs in it, it's nice, convenient etc but not a necessity...

well rigs and such it seems very expensive....(maybe not billions) i saw on this board that you can equip them for huge amounts of isk so.....and if you want to go for the BEST miner it can cost a billion or more dont know if its thrue i will check it and then get back here hehe.... but it has to do with named stuff and those are very expensive....

screw goons, they ****ers
ok, to weaken their economy you need to explain to new players how bad their organization really is, despite goonswarm campaign to attract new members and advertise their corporation on youtube, all the goons really do is scamming people for ISK, SHIPs, and real money.
Goonswarm will demand that you spend at least 100 USD on in game assets and then donate ISK and bucks to the goons. Then they laugh at the beginners and send them to 'GTFO'. Goonswarm scams eve beginners for Real Money which is miserable. They try to sell their in-game asset, goon member ship, for Real Money. RMT is not allowed, thus goons activity is illegal.
Then you need to hurt goon's economy in minimatar space, then you need to hurt goonwarm 'higher goals' morale. In fact goonswarm are EVE terrorists, who disintegrate the gameplay. They do not do any good by scamming and grieving people.
and their youtube campaign just sucks...
HI sec ganking can only affect low end ice and tritanium availability in certain areas in EVE. Most of the ore comes from 0.0 and is consumed in low sec and 0.0.

Goonswarm really is doing us a huge favour. I'm not saying I like their tactics, but unless you're docked you're never safe - not even in high sec. I draw from my low sec experience where you don't use any ship unless you have another in the hanger ready to go. And there is no situation that cannot be somehow resolved by current game mechanics.
It would take a lot of little ships to take down a hulk. Monitor local....dock if the size suddently doubles. If you really must AFK mine then either use a disposable ship (disposable is a variable based on your ability to replace it) or ideally don't play at all if you're going to AFK.
End of the day it will always come down to risk vs reward. Hulk gives much higher yield but its a risk undocking it without proper protection. If you can't get organised enough to arrange this protection, then you may have to put up with a lower yield or take a huge risk without it.
Goonswarm can continue as far as I'm concerned - their tactics pose no risk to a well organised player and the less high sec hulks there are out there, the higher the mineral prices for those of us willing to actually put "at keyboard" time into this game.

Goon blow up minners because they dont like to actualy fight.
Also
The largest contribution of minerals to the market comes from reprocessed mission loot.
killing miners has little to no effect on actual prices other than scaring idiots into stock pileing and becoming fodder for marketeers.
Also Blowing up ships is an isck Faucet.. not an isk sink .. thanks to insurance.
And saying a goon can plan anything is crediting someone who is willing to pay $10 a month be be in a corp with inteligence.
That is all.

again, have you ever seen the amount of minerals a decent miner can produce in an hour? far much more than what a single lvl 4 mission can provide

Nope.. im right.
Its simply a fact that there are more mission runners than miners. So sure you can get more mins if you mine but that wont make mining the largest contributer to the market.

At a guess, I would say there are probably 20-30 mission runners for every miner. The amount of minerals generated from the average L4 is staggering, battleships are like pinatas, they drop tons of modules, ammo, drones. I've known a lot of mission runners that don't fully loot the missions they are that overwhelmed with what drops. When I did L4s I ran with 2 ships to speed things up and I looted and salvaged everything.
If you multiply that by a hundred or so people working the hub at any point in time it is a mountain of resources via reprocessable goods and the vast majority of that stuff is just sold within the hub. Most mission runners have no real industry skills.
What I used to do was place buy orders at all major L4 caldari mission hubs for the various modules at a fraction of the value of the reprocessed module value, but more than what was otherwise around, often there was nothing around so I would give 25% of mineral value. Mission runners were happy and more importantly, I was happy. I sold off enough minerals in bulk to keep the buy orders up and put the rest of the minerals into manufacturing T1 ships, back before the T2 market collapsed with cheap T2 ships.
For nothing other than performing logistics I converted modules into ships and it was pretty much all profit. I stopped when the market turned stupid, why bother making **** below mineral cost, it is just ********.

It happens. A le'resistance can also happen. People group and take out hulks, omg! It's the game. Adapt to it. Eve is a living world where stuff happens. Like in the real world. Cops take down criminals, but they can't be everywhere or response in time. There can't be bad guys without good victims.
