Hi all
let's deal with one matter at a time, today's Factional missions. Currently the system seems to work like this :
- you're into FW and you are given a mission by a FW agent, quality and level under normal standings rule (fact)
- this mission will send you into ennemy low sec systems several jumps away (fact)
- once you're in the target sys, warping to the mission spot will reveal the beacon in overview to all (guess) or only FW pilots , the beacon name is the mission name (fact)
- mission deadspace access may be restricted to ship classes, depending on mission objective or level (like lvl I Worlds Collide) but currently there is no clue to know if you could enter before trying it(fact)
- mission spots may be detected with probes or onboard scanner (guess) : beacons like "Dead men tells no tale", "Uproot" were detected with Empire navy inside
First issue You just flew through 9 jumps in ennemy territory to start your mission and you can't enter but beacon is now revealed, yuo have to bring autorized ship. Any half-awaken pilot will notice it. Chance to complete mission quickly before FW pilots set up defense drops very low.
Second issue If a pilot belonging to an ennemy faction takes a FW mission then a mission spot will spawn somewhere into your faction territory with your faction Navy inside (his ennemy Navy.) Contrary to what CCP Oneiromancer said, those NPC will fire at you with no distinction even if you're the same side. They act like normal mission NPC.
Other issues depend if my (guess) are right. Beacon revealed to all including neutrals, in low sec, mmm.... Scanable mission plexes, mmm...

Another issue: those missions are way harder than their normal counterpart - I tried a pair of level 2 missions in my enyo with a mate (also in enyo) now and first had 9 minmatar cruisers, the second had 3 frigs and a boss but when boss entered armor 6 cruisers spawned, then more cruisers spawned when he hit structure.
We used an agent thats at the frontier between the two empires (4 from amamake); first mission sent us 6 jumps, the second 15 jumps into enemy terriotry.
Reward was 40k isk and 80 loyalty points for each mission.

Mission rewards automatically adjust themselves acording to the average time taken to complete them.
If you run into anomalous behaviour by Navy NPC's please file a bug report as per these instructions. ------------------

Obviously this reply does not constitute a promise to do anything but I'd like to see the discussion take off and see opinions from both sides.

That is the theoretical optimal.
The practical reality is that in lowsec they do not adjust as noone bothers to do them because of the low starting rewards.

I've been wondering whether this formula takes into account missions that fail completely, or whether it just averages the times of successfully completed missions.
Obviously, if it doesn't consider the failed missions, the rewards are never going to adjust high enough. ------------------ Ironfleet.com |

these instructions.
come on, we all need to take the mission and sit in it for 4 hours then complete it and redo XD ___________________________________________ Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both. For a wounded |
