WOW! we had a massive blackout a couple of days ago at about 1am, I went outside and i have never seen so many stars since i was living out in the country side. Is anyone else lucky enough to live or visite anywhere where there is little or no "light polution"
I was thinking wow, just look at them, so many and so amazing to watch.
kinda makes you feel small when you think about it.
anyone else ?

I am very lucky in that regard, I live in west wales, miles away from anyone else and any lights.
It's a very beautiful area, not just the stars but the landscape and everything that lives here.
When I look at the stars at night I don't feel small at all, I feel like everything is just right.

I live in and around Glasgow. Few years back i went for a break in Loch Goilhead. Which is nestled deep in a valley floor. There was no light anywhere.
The sight was spectacular. I lay back watching it for hours. Its more than just stars, you can see the colours and the nebulas clumps of gas.
One of the most amazing things i have ever seen.

I live in a city, Richmond Va., but I am never very far from the country.
You should try getting away from the city during one of the expected meteor showers that happen a few times a year. That is quite amazing especially when at the beach.

Lived out in the country for 8 years and had the show almost nightly weather permitting, never got tired of it and I doubt I ever will.

If I want to see the starts I drive to the beach wich is 5 miles from my home.

I see it every night. It's especially fun when I think I'm looking at a star and it suddenly takes off on me. Darn satalites.

I've only ever seen what I consider the proper night sky once, deep in French countryside miles from any town and on a moonless night.
It's amazing when you can see basically nothing but a blanket of stars wherever you look. Makes one feel very insignificant indeed. In fact it makes the whole Earth / human race seem pretty minor in the grand scheme of things.

Yeah I sometimes turn off the lights so I can see the stars in Amamake. It makes me feel so small looking at all of them.

I went cottaging a few years back, and was amazed, as I've always lived in large cities and rarely travelled anywhere but between large cities. The shrooms and E helped, and the fact there was a meteor shower that night... oof.
edit: Actually, there was also that big north american power outage a while back as well, I remember seeing stars over Toronto that night. Was awesome.

Sadly i live smack in the middle of glasgow so i dont get to see the stars. However, on a recent trip to my girlfriends parents place in the countryside north of aberdeen, i was treated to a beautiful sight.
Stars everywhere, more than i've ever seen in my life, i wanted to count them all. My only regret is that i dont have a telescope (yet). Im looking forward to giong there again at christmas, and the one present i want is a telescope

Live near a big city so no stars for me 
I saw the Aurora Borealis when I was headed up to Calgary in the middle of the night, I still remember it. It's one of the most amazing things you'll ever see.
