I see all this talk about Jump Drives, but if anyone bothered to read the stories, Jump Drives have been around for a while. They have just only been available to the major empires, same thing with Titans. So I doubt they technological marvel the Joves will show will be jump drives.

Hehe i got so excited by news i bought the jump drive skill pack then i realised like so many others that the chances jump drives are gonna come in this soon is like a million to one  . Oh well was only 10 mil

Yeah, Obviously it's a nice event to celebrate Eve going live one year ago, combined with a possible prelude to new technology.
As with the Crielere station construction event though, I wouldn't expect new tech to drop during the visit itself. The new tech/items will likely filter in later, if this story arc is indeed meant to lead there.

Jumpdrives: definitely not, not tested and no titans.
Interbus: distinct possibility this leads up to Interbus
Tech 3 or > : no chance
New elite ships: no chance
Shiva: very probable this is the upswing to shiva. But dont expect it anytime in the next two weeks i would say.
And most of all, dont expect people NOT to try and kill the Jove with loads of dispensible frigates. If they succeed, STAR wanted it to happen, if they don't they didn't want it to.
No big thing, tho I'm slightly miffed at the timing of the whole thing. 12:00 GMT is just about the quitest time in Eve. (so not a good servertest either, of which the notion that that was what was meant by this event is ridiculous anyway). I will miss being there in a kestrel, ready to try and blast it if that is what's the event leads up to and just watch if it doesnt seem an invite for fighting when i get there.
hmm, maybe i can take the day off

U right m8.....Jump drives are already here (they are used to go to new systems and build gates)

Don't think jump drives are in the storyline yet. Could be the "Old Man Star" story mentions jumpdrives, but the guy was after all in cryostasis for an ammount of years, and the rest of his journey took quite a few years too. Hopefully player available jumpdrives will be faster :P
Can't wait for 12.00 gmt anyway :)

 The jovian exploded and transported as lil pieces all over the place and he wasnt using a jump drive some sorta transporter system.
Also jump drives while not in game yet are in the storyline already faster than light article with some parts about jump drives.

It could be a new way of transporting yourself around the galaxy without a ship.
Would save on messing about with shuttles. :)
