I loved george sampson, his singing in the rain dance was phenomenal! Although he did do it in the semi's and the final. Signature were good, however you gotta take the public vote into this. They are more inclined to look at the story, and it was easy to fall for george, I know I did . Just glad that singer didn't win it, he just cried all the time...grow some balls mate...seriously...

I would say george is a worthy winner I dnt think the guys that come in second were better than the 4 girls playing classical or the young girl who who was singing either. The other young lad was good two. But I thought the MJ wannabees were O.K. and I dnt think they should of been in the final let alone come second.

signiture should have won, and the fact the 12yr old girl did not get into the final 3 was shocking, as they were the 2 that i would have been fine with either winning, sure George was good, just not good enough imo

Britain's got talent?
As a nation the best we can do is some kid doing a dance he ripped off someone else and imo isn't that impressive. Sad day for the UK if you ask me. At least that girl was impressive, still knowing ITV it was probably too similar to last year's winner and they probably fixed it so she couldn't win.

I watched Britains got talent once, Ant and Dec just **** me off far too much also lameness of most of the performances. I'm also a bit of a snob and I cannot stand ITV.

It doesn't really matter all that much. The two kid singers are already lined up for recording contracts; Signature and Strike already have contracts lined up for doing their thing in music videos; Escala were doing records and videos before they even joined up for BGT. Cheeky Monkeys and the dog act are the only ones who are going to suffer by not winning, and after all those kids are 8 years old - they have lots of time. George? He NEEDED to win. Whether he deserved it or not, good luck to him. ---------------------------------------------- "Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent."

Personally I don't think he did deserve to win, I genuinely got bored of his act quite quickly, the girls playing the classical instruments were brilliant, and imo, so were the michael jackson wannabe and the sikh guy, and that girl...god she is gunna be one hell of a singer. ---

Are you guys really discussing one of those "talent finding" shows, that shoot outta the ground everywhere, like mushrooms?
I mean... you used your free time to watch and post about it?
Just checking, deeply shocked and full of disbelief.

I echo this mostly. I don't know how far Andrew will go though, depends how his voice goes after it breaks. As for Faryl, well she'll sing at the RVS no doubt later in her career, because she most definitely has a big one ahead of her.
(E)scala were alright to be honest. When you've been playing as long as they have, and have been to music college all you have to do is learn a repertoire and perform it. They already have a career and had already been signed before. It wasn't a big loss to them by not winning.
I think George was great, it's actually quite hard to dance like he does, and if anyone wants to dispute that, show me. He also didn't dwell on his story like Madonna, but I think he deserved it more than anyone else. The only other people I would have wanted to win would have been Nemesis because they don't have a career started (unlike all the others bar Kate & Gin and The Cheeky Monkeys).
Besides, they all get a lot of press coverage out of it, so I don't reckon they've been hard done by. My only qualm would be about Andrew Muir and his choice of song as it seemed he didn't get a fair say in what he wanted to perform. Malashek Vatrii Kaminjosvig & Mournival Alliance Diplomat |

This is true. But I cannot help feel ashamed of the IQ of the british tv watching public in voting for those 3, and not for the 12 year old singing girl. I'm sure even the Queen was voting for her, was only thing of caliber that she would be interested in.
Does anyone really think the royal family want to watch street dancers?

Seems more like "Britain has Copycats"
Granted I am only picking off YouTube what people are listing here but:
Bond is better and sexier (IMO)
Carolyn & Rookie are the best doggie freestyle ever (sadly Rookie is in doggie heaven now)
Thriller...been done ages ago.
Not saying the folks weren't talented since they are. Just not terribly original.

Exactly. Besides, the 12 year old girl Faryl was good indeed, but singers are quite common place on the RVS... it needed something a bit different (not saying there's a shortage of dancers but hey.) Besides, I think George deserved it more since he wouldn't get signed if he hadn't have won. She's most like going to get star treatment for the rest of her life.

This competition isn't about contracts or being signed it's all about being privileged enough to perform your act using your talent in front of members of the royal family.
Being forgotten is what the RVS is all about, variety. Taking something from every generation and culture to create a fantastic show. And looking at it that way, surely Signature should have won. a great blend of two cultural music taste's to create a enjoyable couple of minutes. They are blatant one hit wonders but they have something fun for everyone to enjoy.
But meh!!! simon cowell will make a few quid out of the acts!!!

Edited by: Imperator Jora''h on 01/06/2008 22:46:21 Edited by: Imperator Jora''h on 01/06/2008 22:44:54 How much do you think George's sob story played in his winning? He was talented to be sure but not sure I would have picked him over the rest.
EDIT: To be fair they were all hamming it up. Andrew and his bullies winning for his mum, Faryl and her dad, Signature getting out of their daily crap jobs, etc.
2nd EDIT: Frankly Andrew will not be singing like that for much longer unless he becomes a castrato (yep...like you would expect from the word and used to be done). -------------------------------------------------- "Of course," said my grandfather, pulling a gun from his belt as he stepped from the Time Machine, "there's no paradox if I shoot you!"
