Originally by: Zurrar The Fc's orders comes over the speakers loud and clear, 'two carriers docked in *****, ready the cap ships!'. Some of us are already undocked and hugging the station, others log on and join fleet. Standings are checked and rechecked, confirmed hostile. Support fleet is organized and moved into position, the capital fleet is forming and awaiting the order to jump. The two tacklers wait eagerly outside the station as one of the carriers undocks, 'Scrammed, webbed wait for the other one!', seconds later a second carrier undocks. Just like the first one he is webbed and scrammed, and down goes the cyno. I was the third carrier to jump into system, by the time my sensors had loaded Pa's fighters were already working on the first archons shields.
It felt like an eternity before my locks finalized on each of the carriers, fighters launched, fighters engaged. More friendly capitals enter the fight, and the support fleet starts piling in at various ranges. Suddenly a secondary cyno appears on overview, their bringing more... The support fleet is ordered to start killing cyno ships, but even so more hostile carriers jump into system. By now more friendly dreads had logged on and entered the fight, These 3 archons, and 3 thanatos were fighting a losing battle and they knew it.
Calls started echoing threw my pods bio-fluid, as screams for remote reps from our support fleet start overtaking our Fc's orders. In a last ditch effort to inflict damage, the 7 carriers, started shooting battleships. By this time we were fighting three archons, three thanatos, and one nid. Explosions and wreckage bounced off the shields of my chimera as battleships exploded around me, armageddon, raven, megathron, rokh, then suddenly the archon that tanked us so well fell to our overwhelming firepower.
The second archon fell much quicker than the first, shields, armor, and hull all gone in a matter of seconds, testimony to the amount of firepower we brought. The remaining carriers pulled their fighters, and started docking negotiations. This being my first large scale capital fight, my heart was racing, palms moistened with sweat.
After the looting was sorted, and a certain member of the fleet blowing up both carrier wrecks, we left system. Altho losses were taken, we left the field victorious over our enemy.
Invicta, great fight.
Altho rp'ers frighten me with their weirdness thankyou for the report, I prefer to hear of the smaller engagements more than the larger ones as they are less steeped in tinfoil hattery and theorycraft.
