Anuone know if this game will run on a laptop , im using desktop and getting moaned at , so i want to switch it to laptop.
The techies at PC world said no , but the basic system requirements say yes , so long as its a 128 radeon 9000 graphics card.
Are there any real PC boofs that can help?
Cheers

I run EVE on my laptop when I am not at home, it runs better than my desktop does (granted my pc only has a 32mb v-card).
Here is what I am running:
Type: Dell Inspirion | 5100 Processor: Pentium 4 2.4GHz RAM: 512mb HD: 40GB OS: WinXP Pro V-Card: Mobility Radeon 7500C 64mb
So anyone who tells you that EVE will not run smoothly on a laptop has at least not seen it run on a Dell laptop with this setup.

Run eve on mine, full whack, full graphics, 1600*1028 or thereabouts, with full antialiasing. No problems at all.
But then most people dont have an area-51m....

Rumors of my clones death are greatly exaggerated. But I am still INACTIVE

Edited by: Synapse Archae on 07/05/2004 01:30:46 PC World obviously knows nothing.
My Dell Inspiron 5150 has a 128mb geforceFX, a gig of ram, and a 3ghz processor. It runs Eve MUCH better than my desktop.
My friend bought an identical machine except with a 3.2 ghz hyperthreading processor, and we take them to LANs all the time. They can play games as well as any machine on the market today.

Should run fine - you might want to invest in some fire retardent pants (or skirt if that way inclined) - they can get damned hot. I actually recieved a painful burn to my thigh from excessive Eve play on a laptop.

I run it on an IMB ThinkPad R40. I have a 1.8Ghz Pentium 4, 32mb Mobility Raedon video and 256Mb RAM. No hair on my portrait, but it runs well enough. Haven't tried combat with it though. Used at work in the background just for mining so far and that works well.
Good luck!

yep - the vid card is the let down - and has caused some troubles - but 99% of the time eve works beautifully for me :) -----

I have a sony vaio TR3A and it does NOT work on this laptop (well it works in the space stations but crashes as soon as you go outside). Apparently this game dosnt work on gfx cards which dont support hardware T&L, which sucks, but ccp have deemed it so! Im hoping they will fix this in the future.
