Hello,
Me and my friend have been in-active for about 5-6 months. We both have around 26m sp and got close to all our pre-requisite skills trained. One toon is Minmatar based and has BS V and CS V, but can fly all solo ships effectively in minmatar. The other toon is lacking more pre-req but cross trained into amarr, and caldari. He can fly effectively up to command ships, no t2 larges for amarr or caldari. We have been on this month long debate on what to fly before we become active again, with all the different combinations it has been mind blowing. If anyone has any suggestions it would be appreciate. This scenario is for 2-man roaming gang in 0.0.
Thanks,
Bootleg

Might be. It's pretty survivable though.

if you got balls i would say geddon and a inty...
but if you actuly want to be able to survive ambushes or so i would say a rapier and a sleipner... Playing minmatar is "like going down a flight of stairs in a office chair firing an Uzi". |

I would agree with the Rapier and Slepnir. Maybe replace the Rapier with a Huginn but both ships are great. ____ Enforcer of of the NBSI policy

Eh, I'd rather have Chuck Norris and MacGuyver, but that's just me.

Yes, but if they're on the same team, MacGuyver can build the plane out of gum and paper clips and then Chuck Norris can use it to do a flying roundhouse kick from parachute insertion altitudes so he does even more damage. -------------------- "I am hard pressed on my right; my centre is giving way; situation excellent; I am attacking." - Ferdinand Foch at the Battle of the Marne |

Hugin / Rapier + Anything with damage is pretty brutal. The concept being that you can keep them from returning the gate and laughing at you.
Hugin + Zealot is a decent blend of tackle and brutal dps + its a good defense against other hugins and rapiers (webbing them is not fight ending when encountering a zealot in a rapier, they will pwn you unless you have support). The survivablity of those two ships is pretty high as they both nano quite well and again, the zealot's 30km ranges make it lethal to get close to it with small gangs.
The scimitar as a heavy tackler is a fun and extremely shocking tactic but there are far better ships to choose from and it would be sad to overlook the scimitar fits that can burn at 3km/s while using 2 large shield transfers from 70km away... permarun.
Roaming around without a rapier/hugin or a curse means you are at the whim of any enemy nanos you encounter. You surely wont catch them, and its a good chance they will catch you... and invite their friends.

But if Macguyver and Colonel Jack O'Neill ever team up (aside from the the quantum paradox it would produce) they could seriously kick Chuck Norris's ass. --

Vaga with ECM drones + Sacrilege with ECM drones could be an option.
Amarr toon could use a Curse or a Zealot too...killing a Raven's cap makes it way faster to kill than anything but a Zealot. All three Amarr ships can be nano-ed effectively, and increase gang dps considerably - tho the Curse does it indirectly.
I suggest ECM drones cause these increase survivability a lot. The Zealot cannot do much about ewar - it can fit a scram or web...should you ask for a 3 man gang, the amarr toon should be a zealot. The Curse also can carry 5x med ECM drones if things go really wrong. Also adding a curse or rapier/huginn also helps preventing another nano-cruiser intercepting you until help arrives. Rapier and Falcon would be pretty kick ass. Anything fast you can stop and anything with DPS you can jam (and stop).
Better combination would be 1 of each of the cloaking recons.
Falcon to Jam Rapier to Web ... that gallente one that no one uses to Scramble Curse to neutralise
So you can't move, can't fire and can't tank, if you're targetted by those ships.
I wonder how effective a small squad of Electornic Attack Frigs would be, actually. 2 of each would be pretty cheap and have quite nice EWAR capabilities. --

The Avatar trains up a cyno pilot, cynos the Ragnarok in, the Ragnarok is conveniently fit with a cyno himself and brings the Avatar in. Success!

What would be suggested for a Minmatar + Gallente 2 player set-up? The Minnie pilot has around 20+ million SPs and will fly a nano-Rapier. What about for 0.0 roaming pvp+ratting as a Gallente char that matches well with the Rapier's strengths? I'm leaning towards an Ishtar with tech 2 heavies and moderate nanoing.

Sacrilege and Sleipnir is a good duo, nano them up, put cloaks on them (a bit lame but with only two of you sometimes you just need to hide), you'll be able to break most tanks you'll find and are both good ships.
