Just got back to eve after a little break so i'm a little rusty.
Got Angel Extravaganza as my first mission and I was wondering how to set up the tank on my dominix? angels do all typs of dmg right? also is it worth buying the Diamond tag for 8mil for the bonus room?
I have looked around a little for a guide on the mission but I'm not sure if they are up to date.

I have just run it in my Raven, survival guide says tank for Exp and Kin (plus Thermal for bonus room). I found it very easy except the bonus room, took me 4 warp outs solo as the whole room aggros you very nasty, then the station took me ages to down and dropped absolute rubbish - Miner I, webifer, no faction goodies at all

Last I heard, you'll mostly see Explosive and Kinetic with a sparse helping of Thermal. If you kill the thermal-dealing rats early you can stick with your standard explosive/kinetic hardeners for tanking. That said, I totally don't remember which specific rats deal thermal.

are bonus room stations supposed to drop goodies?
just yestarday i spent 40mins and few hundred heavy missiles trying to take down this bloody station.... only left me some T1 items and ammos -.-

Seems like it. But they also nerfed the battlestation drops. used to be it always gave 30k bane torps, and some T1 ogres iirc. Not very valuable stuff, but I liked it. Shame they removed those.

Edited by: Fist1 on 02/06/2008 09:09:18 I made 45 mil on this mission today including loot and salvage. heh, 46 alloyed tritanium bars and 22 armor plates from that mission alone. and yes the bonus room is a real pain, but I found the rest of it extremely easy once I found the trigger(eve survival was down when I ran it)

Do they aggro all of them ? My fitting for my drake is 1faction explosive hardener, 1 explosive hardener t1, 1 faction em hardener, 1 faction kinetic hardener. No thermal hardener. But if i were to make a perfect fit with maxx skills it would be 2 faction Explosive and 2 faction INV fields

Have they just decreased the chance of faction loot dropping, or removed it altogether in bonus? I would guess they made it like gurista extrav, but has anyone gotten a faction drop from AE since it came back?

Instant aggro as soon as you arrive. Several sentries, the cruise sentries do nasty DPS. I suspect you will get mauled in a Drake.

After having some trouble with AE bonus room i did some research on the damage ratio
it seems that the damage ratio for damage types is somewhat like this : EM : 10% Thermal: 15% Kinetic: 15% Explosive: 60% And with a total dps of something like 1050
So for armor tank i found using 2 exp and 1 kinetic hardeners, 1 eanm and 1 dc the most effective way to tank it. ( on an Apoc with dual reppers )
Personally i take out the cruiser lauchers first, to remove some of that Thermal damage that you are still pretty weak to tank.

My meta4 XL boosted raven tanks bonus just fine. My advice is kill the turrets first, because they deal thermal damage and it is likely to be your lowest resist (I generally fit 2x exp 2xinvuln or something along those lines). Once the turrets are down, the ships are easy to tank (just watch the trigger).

I was killing them first, with my hardeners (all t2 ofc) at 2x exp 1x invul 1x kinetic, t2 XL booster and t2 boost amp and a DC II.
I was getting murdered

YMMV. As soon as I warp in, I send my Raven flying off in the opposite direction from the NPC's. Then I start working on the cruise turrets first and let my drones start on frigates. Usually I have to run the booster non-stop til my cap is 33%, but by then most of the turrets are gone.
I should mention though that I usually bring along an Amarr char on a second account that helps with the turrets. I've been using one of my lower SP char for the missions until my other char has enough faction to get them himself, heh, so usually it's a tag-team venture.

I've done the bonus room with my dominix and i barely escaped alive. When i warped out i had like 12% of hull left. I was using META 5 (Tech 2) shield tank and i couldn't take it although i didn't ran out of my cap.
2x: Shield Boost AmplifierI 2x: Invulnerability Field II 1x: X-Large Shield booster II (983.3 HP per 5 seconds due to amplifiers)
Now with my machariel and META 9 shield tank i can tank the WHOLE room without any problem. Shield gets to 90% and than back.
2x: Caldari Navy Shield Boost Amplifier 2x: Caldari Navy Invulnerability Field 1x: Caldari Navy X-Large Shield booster (1367.354 HP per 5 seconds due to amplifiers)
I would like to see overseeer back in this room because it's very hard.

I farm AE with members of my corp-we sometimes have up to 5 people doing the mission together.
I also have significant experience doing this mission alone-it just takes longer & the 100 wrecks take time to salvage as well.
The level4 will yeild in excess of 40 million when completed & salvaged.
All of the gates give full agro from the initial warpin but a dominix easily tanks without breaking a sweat at least with a tec2 tank. You only need to tank for Explosive & Kinetic in the first 5 rooms. Go with 4 active hardeners & use 2 tec2 explosive & Kinetic. The triggers for the next swarm are nearly always the highest bounty rat. The vipers & webifiers will target you wardens if deployed. The initial spawn which you encounter on warp in will get close so in a Dominix kill these with Heavy drones when they are quite close-don't worry-you can easily tank these initial swarms-just kill everything low value first. Drop Wardens for the respawns. The hardest gate in my opinion is gate2 for the second swarm but is easily killed with Wardens as these spawn at range. Gate 3 just fly in get full agro & drop 5 hammerhead2-these kill all the batteries then take out the battleship with Ogres or guns. Gate 4 & 5 is not dis-similar to gate1 and as always control the agro with selective targetting. The vipers & webifiers move fast but as my Dominix is always stationery the effect of the webifiers is somewhat academic.
The bonus room is murder. It will kill a lone stationery Dominix very quickly even with a full tec2 tank unless you move away from the batteries & that means moving far out whilst working the damage down. I always do this mission in a team-a hard tank like a Drake & 2 or 3 damage dealers. The drake gets the full agro & the other ships kill by assigning drones to protect the drake.
The bonus room is not really worth much when you weigh up the significant risk of loosing your ship to it.
