Sorry for the rude comment last night. Fuhry told me that only a few selected Bughunters will have access to the new Shiva server. Some hours later he posted that players should ask the BH leads for access. It's quite confusing.
The facts: * A new Shiva server exists. * For now, only a few selected Bughunters have access to it.
Even if you don't have access to the server, you can still test the new ingame webbrowser. Simply start the client and type ctrl+alt+shift+b.
I hope everyone can test the Shiva branch soon. But let's give it a first check to iron out some bugs first.

Is this is the current TQ client, or Chaos? I'm guessing it's not the Shiva patch you're refering to, as we wouldn't be able to log in far enough to test the new IGB? (As far as the character selection screen?) Or am I wrong there? |

Edited by: Hellek on 07/05/2004 14:02:48 wrong, you can start it while on login-screen, no need to connect to the server. I can tell ya that it is not worth installing the patch just for seeing the new browser though :-) (don't want to say it would suck but I think you know what I mean)

download the shiva patch, run the client and on the sign in screen then do ctrl+alt+shift+b to get the eve2.0 browser

Mobile refineries better be out when shiva hits (I thought we were supposed to get trimmed down versions before then anyway?) and they better not have crappy efficiency.
Taken from the May 29th 2003 Devchat at EveGate . <Muaddid> Q: When will sentry gun and station and similar construction pods be introduced on the market? <Hellmar> we have various player owned entities already implemented. Sentry guns, power/shield generators, field repair mini-stations, mobile refineries. We are still working out the last tidbits of how they can be over taken, what is the penalty of having a sentry gun kill a n00b etc. and we have been a bit busy with plugging the holes that people have found.I would say that you'd start to see these items on the market in about 2-3 weeks, very expensive to begin with |

How about throw us a bone and let us test those dungeons on Chaos at least ? wouldn't that be possible with a fairly small patch ?

Well all these features they promised are long since overdue, cloaking device, mobile refineries, rogue drones etc. So personally I'm disappointed with CCP for not keeping their promises. I'd much rather log on one day and discover WOW a patch and geez look at all the new stuff.

If they dont release my mobile refineries and make them worthwhile they should implement your quick info, or at least a scanner coded system to the local.
(As for the mobile refineries, they should at least add a skill to increase efficiency; they dont need to be anywhere near the efficiency of stations, but they should operate at least 45-50% and cap off at 60%)

Just here to clear up some questions on mobile refinery efficiency. To the best of my knowledge, current refineries are rated as being 50% efficient, these are the ones you are already using in stations. Mobile refineries are supposed to be 30% efficient. 20% less refine is my understanding, not 40% as it could be interpreted with the use of some math. (perhaps I am wrong in this however)
It should be remembered, that with advanced refining skills, that if you have refinery efficiency level 5, and level one in any specific ore, then you will get the maximum refinable amount for that ore in a 50% refinery. So, if you have level 5 in an ore specialisation skill, that would be 16% more which would give you a near perfect refine in a mobile refinery, but not quite.
I don't have the exact numbers on me, and until we can test them first hand, I can't be positive that it will be an actual 20% or 40% difference in refining between the two. Needless to say really, but your specialised skills for ore refining will make a very big difference when it comes to mobile refineries.
