There is a month buffer before it expires completely. I hope it all will be resolved before that. -- Thanks CCP for cu |

If dev-eve site down forever.. i could make start new dev-eve site on free hosting (not ads or popup)
Example my site: http://baru.dotbas.net (kb http://baru.dotbas.net/killboard/)

Edited by: Rynlam on 09/06/2008 18:10:01 Not to be rude, Toko, but I'd prefer a new site (if the original doesn't get put back up) to be done on a paid host. Free hosting companies just aren't very reliable...

On the front of hosting. I have a site5 account which isn't being used that much, and is paid in advance for the next 4 years. I am more than happy to host a site for free for the ongoing development of the killboard. My account allows for: 1.5TB storage 15TB Bandwidth per month.
They will have their own cpanel etc.
The hosting will only be available to the developers of the killboard though.
All I would need is a domain name to point to one of my accounts.

Hosting is pretty much sorted- I believe the original server is to be restored, anyway.
For a site like EVE-Dev, a dedicated server is more the sort of thing that would be needed- cPanel's all very well but is a right PITA when trying to do anything particularly complex server-side :)
The solution here is to hold on for a bit; a concrete fix will be forthcoming shortly. Speculation and offers of hosting are fairly useless, the latter especially so as nobody knows if eve-dev even has a hosting issue or if it's just a domain problem. -- Ix Forres EVE Application Developer ISKsense | RLS-EVE | Blog |

In the meanwhile I'm looking at the new killmail format in grief and horror, hoping for a swift official update rather than the quick-and-dirty patch.
Hopefully the API will still work (XML, thank god for selective parsing rather than patterns), but I'd fear synchronisation issues after a fix is issued. ---

Eve-dev has the potential for greatness with the right server admin and a VPS/more funding. It needs to work like sourceforge, providing a web-based subversion backend for basically anyone that wants to start a project and provide easy download links and wiki for non-developers searchable by the front page. It wouldn't take much development at all and there is plenty of talented php developers around to do it.
I say to Andrew Gunn or any of the original eve-devvers out there, sort out a paypal donation link for a VPS or some server hardware and build a small team to make eve-forge, readygo.

Does anyone have a link to the downloadable 1.4.0 (Trinity) rev 326? I tried the link earlier in this post but it doesn't appear to be there anymore and the site is still down.

New site: http://www.eve-id.net/ Wiki: http://wiki.eve-id.net/Main_Page Forum: http://eve-id.net/forum/
Welcome post from the site admin:
Quote: EVE-Dev has had some outtages in the last days... it started with an exploding transformator in the datacenter and ended with Andrew deciding that he doesnt want to put any more work into a game he stopped playing a year ago. Despite eve-dev.net currently pointing to joker.com i pulled everything from the old server to my new one.
I migrated the forum from e107 to a fresh phpbb3 and moved the complete svn repository so we don't loose any changesets.
You can get the current hotfix r327 which enables the EVE-Dev Killboard to process Empyrean Age-Style Killmails at eve-id.net/svn.
Our all beloved wiki is available again at wiki.eve-id.net, nothing has been lost!
The svn is available at svn://eve-id.net/edk If you are using Tortoise SVN select Relocate and point it to svn://eve-id.net/edk/dev to get the actual release.
I'll try bringing the Sovereignity Map back to you over the next few days...
stay tuned chris
