Currently no Windows based VM style tools support a virtualised 3d Graphics card.
So EVE will not run on any of them. I have looked into this for testing and while there are some other non Windows based ones that do it none of the Windows based ones do.
Citrix Xen support direct access to the Video Card but this is cumbersome. Parallels has this support in it's Mac product (for running windows on a Mac) but has no plans to bring it to their windows product. VMWare has a Hack that does it, but it is not officially supported (though written by VMWare) and has been not officially supported since version 4.5 from memory. MS Virtual PC Does not support this but the new in development version of the Virtualisation software is supposed to ... no further details known.

I've looked into this b4, the VMware hack kinda supports 3d but only for Directx8...never found a solution to play games via virtual OS. No sacrifice....no victory!

VMware Workstation 6.5(currently in beta) supports DirectX 9 officially (without hacking config files). Problem is quality of such support. I personally tested EVE Online.Well, it works but perfomance is less than on same host machine. Also, there are graphical artifacts(like eyes out sockets). This is not only problems with EVE Online, many games has problems(but point is-there are _some_ problems, not like 'it is not run at all') VMware asked for end-user testing on this new feature while 6.5 is in beta and fixed some visual artifacts while see http://communities.vmware.com/thread/136814?tstart=0&start=15 (free registration on vmware required) Basically, it can be used for skill switching(if you hand-disable forced debugging mode of beta version), may be for mining, with current performance it cannot be use for PVP (Premium client running in 'premium turned off' mode) I suggest you to look at WS 6.5 when it comes out of beta
also, VirtualBox is in process of developing OpenGL acceleration for VMs(and Direct3D is planned (according to wiki) to do via Parallels way-translation layer from Wine)
