It leads unwarranted elitism and things like (for example) the pure idiocy of using IQ tests as a selection criteria for professions that have absolutely nothing to do with the skills being tested. ______________________________________________ -You can never earn my respect, only lose it. These studies show nothing new, women will forever outdo men in grades given equal oppertunity but can they convert grades into something tangiable? These forums are FUBAR, upgrade this decade!

Interestingly, if you read the full article that goes with the link in the OP, boys still perform notably better in geometry than girls do no matter what their socioeconomic status. Always leaning over the pocket your aiming for, or bending over for a shot directly in front of you, rubbing their pool stick against your leg while your trying to concentrate, and blowing into your ear are just a few things. Gotta have a sharp mind and a iron will to get through those games.

Yes and no Studies here show that girls are given better grades for the same results in tests. And some in subjects have even the tests been adapted so that there will be even scores betwen the sexes . Grade criterias have also been changed in a way that benefitts women

Academics and emotions are two different things to a certain extent. Basic academic stuff we are taught in school can be by most people, regardless of how shallow or moronic they are. One could argue, of course, that that is only because basic mathematics, english, science, etc can be mastered by people who don't question the system and blindly obey their teachers. When I was in school I found that the most intelligent people were the ones who were only doing average. It's a known fact that the majority of comical geniuses reject school due to their rebellious nature, well I believe that that applies to all people who truly are intelligent. To be a true academic don't you also have to have a knack for looking at the bigger picture? To question 'facts', data, etc? I'm not saying that I think that females are dumber than males. Far from it, my point is that we still haven't found an accurate way to measure intelligence. The majority of females at my uni get good grades in class but only seem to be interested in the brainless clubbing and chavvy booze whilst hardly any of them show up to uni events intended for intellectuals.

I think so far out of all of the IQ tests that I have taken I've scored between 120 and 180 so I agree that theres not really an accurate way to measure intelligence. I wouldn't really base intelligence off a social aspect though as some people just enjoy certain avenues of life more than others. Like I know printers inside and out. I also know a lot about computers esepecially compared to most of my friends, but I'm still a redneck at heart. I prefer country music, jeans and a t-shirt, and playing in the dirt compared to art shows, brand name clothes, and upstanding social gatherings any day of the week. Also I assume that most of these girls that your talking about are in their early 20's which is understandable that their going through the alcoholyhoe phase. It's a common theme during those years.

Men and women are supposed to conform to social behaviour dependent on their respective gender - as per Micheal Dietrich's post (Soaps vs WWE Wrestling etc). Of course, not everybody does but the majority seem to, hence being seen as 'normal'.
