Edited by: Jenina Hawke on 04/06/2008 10:00:46 Ok, I've been a bad girl. Seriously, I know it. Killed too many Amarr ships over the years, too many Caldari too. And it is showing. Even with Diplomacy 5, I can barely scr ape a -4.57 standing with Amarr and none of the related factions will talk to me. Except... CONCORD - and they don't have mission agents.
So - since Faction Warfare will create others like me (I know how I ended up with my standing and I am ok with it) - how about opening up Concord agents so we have a slight chance of redeeming ourselves with hard grinding?
My 5 ISK and change.

Nope, will not work when your faction standing is -2 or less. I have -2.5 or so with the best of the related factions.
Actually, what I have done is do missions - for the wrong crowd, some will say, but I am fine with whom I run missions for. I just want a mechanic that will enable me to work my way back from this point. It does not have to be easy.
I COULD work for InterBus - but they have no storyline agents. So... hey, just add one single storyline agent for InterBus and I'm happy? Pretty please?

Don't see what concord has to do with all this at all TBH. It is faction standings you are losing, not global security status - so they'd have to implement a way for you to redeem yourself to the specific faction (amarr, minmatar, etc.)
There is no such functionality right now as I understand it, so you're screwed until CCP fixes it in 2010.

Nareg, hon, you know I am not ever going to join FW for those Amarr maniacs - but I do want to be able to AFK my ships in Amarr space... which the beefed up navies in the FW expansion makes impossible for us bad girls.
The problem is that I worked my way to lower than -2 with all Amarr/Caldari related factions way before Faction Warfare was thought of and so I had no warning that I would be ... well, scr*ewed by an expansion that is now only days away. I am just asking for an in-game mechanism to undo the damage to my rep in Amarr space. Slightly. I don't want to be buddy-buddy with the Amarr navy - just to be able to fly AFK through any region of Empire since I frankly don't really care about Empire anyway.
Yeah, I know - I can use alts to transport my stuff, but there should be a mechanism to redeem even a hardened criminal like me. I mean - pirates just rat for a couple of days and are then able to go back to high sec ganking all they like. I cannot redeem my character at this point - due to having done missions.

Well if you don't join the militia faction, the navy wont kill you, so there is no change for you. They only go after those that have joined the opposing militia faction, so if you don't do that and just go about your business as usual, then you have no problem, really.

Even if she don't join the militia she will be attacked by the navy if her modified standing is worse than -5 and she entre high sec systems.
I think you can try the Kanid, it seeem you have some standing left if you train diplomacy to the max.

She is at the point where her faction standing block any agent of the amarr or caldari faction from speaking with her. So even if she get standing 10 with one of the corporations through shared standing gain they will not speak with her for the low faction standing.

Wrong. I tried it on Sisi with a standing of -5.3 (before Diplomacy 5). I was attacked and killed by the navy the moment I entered an Amarr system.

After the expansion you can join a corp which is in the Amarr or Caldari militia and work your standing with them up that way. It'll be a pain though.

They won't want me, since my unmodified standing of -8,22 to Amarr will weigh in heavily on the corp standing.
Besides - I really, really, really do not want to fly FW. I just want to remain in my normal corp and alliance.

You wanted "a slight chance of redeeming ourselves with hard grinding". There is a slight chance of redeeming yourselves with hard grinding by finding a corp which wants you (you don't have to join the Amarr militia, you can also join the Caldari militia if you have 'less worse' standings with them) and doing lots of fighting.
Or do you actually want a guaranteed 'chance' with easy pickings?

Shared pain (well, not really as I am not interested in recovering my Amarr/Caldari standing ).
You can try the hidden Concord agent in Mandoo. From what I know it is the only Concord agent still active and he give a single important mission once.
Be careful, the mission beacon appear in space (the mission spawn a complex) and in the past there was people that jumped in the mission to stheal the crucial loot.
He has given me 10% increase in security status and a standing gain with all the empires. I dubt it will be sufficient but it is something.

What easy pickings? To have to leave the corp and alliance that I have worked to help build over the last nearly 2 years?
I think that I as a player should not be forced to join another corp to be able to work my way around an expansion. Really.
And I doubt if any FW corp for Caldari or Amarr would take me for the simple reasons that I have those very bad standings which WILL factor into their corp standings.
Oh, and also quite possibly because I would only be there to grind my way out and then gone as fast as the wind back to my real corp...

The other option is training diplomacy V, getting that -4.57 standing and making sure it doesn't get worse.
Yes it will require a change in what you've been doing for the past 2 years, but you could've thought of that earlier. It's not like factional warfare coming is a surprise, neither is the empires not like people with horrible standings to them. Your actions have consequences and now, for the first time, there will be a way out of the standings hole and you're complaining it's not easy enough. Lady, it being possible is a huge lot easier than it being impossible as it was for years...

Before berating the other people, have you tried it?
1) FW agents will give mission to someone with -2 or worse standing with the faction if he is in a militia?
2) Militia mission give faction standing gains or only militia?
3) Capturing complex give faction standing and not only militia standing?
I am almost sure that the reply to 1 is no.

Jen, you have probably been working for pirate agents. They used to give nice implants, did they not?
In roleplay terms it makes sense that the empires do not want you in their armies, if your standings are too low. I guess for people in your situation it might make sense if pirate factions were somehow involved in FW. You could then work for these.
Also, CCP stated in the last dev chat that they were looking into ways for players to be able to increase empire faction standings when they are below -2. But this will not be in at the same time as the FW patch, but later.
