Edited by: Kirjava on 04/06/2008 11:23:58 Just watching this in a strange mode of fascination.
Cameron and Brown are argueuing like a pair of kids, he did this and he did that, but he did that so that makes me good.
What the....
... is it allways like this? Even in Primary scool we were reprimanded for that kind of debate.... and the Leader of the opposition looking like someone took ayay his favourite toy when Brown ripped his comments to pieces....
Erm.... any explanations from the intelectuals amongst the out of pod?
EDIT - Borris Jhonson stole the show, regardless of what he said it sounded brilliant comming from him

Yeah, debates between Labour and Tory do tend to degenerate into mud slinging contests. It's like they're asking us to choose between the lesser of two evils at the next election.

Lets just hope he doesn't feck up the contry any more than it already has been!!! Cameron is a bit of a tit but he's a dam sight better that brown. Seems new labor has turned into old tories and new tory is old labor..... how odd

Yeah, I voted Lib Dem at the last election. I knew full well they weren't going to win in my constituency, but I just couldn't bring myself to vote for Tory or Labour.
However at the NEXT election, I don't think I can afford to throw my vote away like that. I HAVE to vote Tory because the thought of Labour getting another term terrifies me. Doesn't mean I particularly like the Tories though.

Its always been like it, but has been worse since Cameron (and Clegg, for that matter) took their respective leaderships. Brown seems to be a little better on the childish name-calling front than Blair, but Cameron is a lot worse for it than any of the other recent Tory leaders. Neither Charlie Kennedy or Menzies Campbell indulged in it much, but Nick Clegg seems to be letting himself get carried away with it a bit more than he should.
Its always been the fall back of a leader with shallow policies. Blair was big on it, and he didn't really have any deep-down ideologies behind him. Tories have tended not to be so bad for it, but Cameron seems to rely on nothing but it. Charlie and Ming both had courage of their convictions, but Clegg is desperately trying to grab some of the mainstream voters that Labour are shedding atm, and that means wading in to the usual two-party mess. ------

Interesting. How can someone get more votes than expected? Surely if a majority of people vote for them, then lots of people know they have votes, so it could hardly be called unexpected. __________________________

Sounds like a BNP voter to me.
People saying Lib Dem is a waste might want to stop and consider they got 25% of the vote last time. Things are changing there.
But yeah, vote OMRLP. For the memory of Lord Sutch and his successor, Mandu the cat. ---- Infiniband can do more than just prevent lag |

I'll never vote - that way when everyone complains about the state of the country, I can blame the voters for putting them there.
Aside from that, anyone who claim to be my leader can get knotted - they are administrators, no more no less.

I miss a British Parliament that relied on the cabinet, rather than a pseudo presidential system that we have now - that was Maggies fault and perpetuated by a supposed left of centre labour government
I miss there being a distinct difference in ethos between the main parties.
I miss politicians who can say the words, yes and no...err well, actually that might never have been the case
I miss a left of centre party that believes in a form of wealth distribution but not where that means someone can get money to sit on their arse for ever and watch sky TV at my expense
I miss a party that actually had the balls to stand up to big problem without trying to please everyone in the process and end up doing nothing at all
I miss a parliament that wasnt trying to push some sort of Orwellian yellow peril nightmare onto us to make us all live in fear and loathing, rather than just trying to have us all get along. ***** must be laughing his ass off, job done.
It comes to something when you can understand and respect the speeches given by US candidates and havethem resonate more with you than the lacklustre words of the idiots in charge over here, I'll be voting Tory next time, as the best of a bad bunch, and those are words I never expected to say.
Oh well, never talk about religion and politics, it only makes you mad....

well, it's how democracy is actually.
no news there, altho on how the state of things are here in Portugal, and the main parties (one a moderate left and the other a moderate right), are getting more and more centrist and most people still remember the right-wing dictatorship we had up to 1974, the more left-winged people from the moderate right party, which is the government part atm, are fleeing to the Communist party (WTF?) and the Left Block (another left-wing party).
....unless another revolution happens before, which, tbh, is more closer than one might think.
and yes, I'm talking about blood shedding. in a western EU country.

I will never vote for the party in power for a simple reason. There is an old saying that politicians are like nappies (diapers) in that both must be changed regularly for the same reason.
If people stopped and thought about how true this is I'm sure we'd change governments a lot more often. The fact is, firstly that the longer a party is in power the more out of touch it becomes and secondly that a newly elected government can do less damage than a re-elected one.

Margaret Thatcher enjoyed Prime Ministers Question Time a little too much, so I've heard.
Allegedly, if you study certain archive pictures of her during PMQT, then you can observe her nipples becoming erect upon being questioned.
