I posted this suggestion a week or two ago but when I came back to check on feedback I couldn't find the topic. But I'd like to see if there's interest in my suggestion 'cause I'm hoping CCP will see it as a worthwhile addition.
DOCUMENT SATCHEL ---------------- I propose a very small (1.0m3) container that will only hold documents (BPOs, BPCs, Data Sheets, Reports, etc). I'd like it not to be a Plank Container so that it can be assembled (unfolded) and placed inside other cans.
Such an item would have great value. For starters, it would hold 100 blue prints and because the satchel could be named, it'd be a great way to sort all sorts of things. How many times have producers accidentally mixed their BPOs in with their BPCs? This would be a good way to keep them separate.
The problem with putting blue prints in the current cans is that there is a maximum of 1000 items in any single container. So I've actually received an error message that I can't add any more items to a General Freight Container that is less than 1% full. But that was because I had almost 1000 BPCs in there. :)
Would other people find this sort of item helpful?

You know, there's quite a difference between a satchel and a 1m¦ bag.

All cans can be named, and there are quite a few tiny cans in the game already. The Small Secure Can is what I use for my blueprint collection, and it can comfortably fit the 340 BPOs and various BPCs I own.
Maybe a better idea would be the ability to create different tabs inside containers? And player hangars? I would love the kind of system the Corporate Hangar uses in that. Then you could use a Small Can, which can carry a bunch of blueprints, and organize them based on tabs.
Do the right thing. Don't leave shuttles in space. |

I'd like a 10m3 container. That'd fit in shuttle cargo, and would be great for keeping salvage parts, blueprints, and implants organized.

Yes, a tiny container would be very nice to have. It doesn't even have to "boost" storage capacity, the way current (planckish?) containers do. Most of the containers I use are solely for keeping items separate, rather than to be able to store a greater volume.

Paper wrap.
We need a wrapper, not a container. Something one can use to wrap up a dozen or so items.
The technology should be here already - contracts and escrow have/had it. |

I use small secure containers as well, but the size doesn't match well with the 1000 item limit. Would be nice if it wasn't a planck container for nesting inside other containers (or even to put a mess of them in a freighter hold which won't hold assembled plancks) when moving lots of BPs around.

Yeah, I use small cans too but you can only get 1 in a shuttle. I'd like to have a can small enough that I can get 2 in a shuttle: one for BPOs and one for BPCs.
But I particularly like the non-plank concept so that we could put several document satchels in a freighter. Or even a handful of them inside a small can. That would work well: anchor a small secure can and fill it with several satchells.
