Is it fair that the biggest trading post is Caldari sovereignty? Gallente will have to deal with a big npc navy threat along with Caldari Militias looking to poke in on the fun.
High sec faction warfare is still unclear as to how it will pan out. But why should Gallente people have to consider dropping the war just to visit Jita? Some interesting events ahead. No? --------------------------------- Pithecanthropus erectus, a name derived from Greek and Latin roots meaning upright ape-man. |

Don't do business there?
There is some good markets besides Jita. Maybe it will break the strangle hold.

Every empire have their big trade system. Jita vs Oursulaert for example.
Gallente pilots wont be able to goto jita to pick up ships easily. They will have to live with the dodixie/oursulaert markets.
This means that the link between these systems will become even more valuable to trade tech 2 items. Buy cheap in jita and move to oursulaert for a slight profit. Buy in oursulaert and move to jita to sell. The divide will create even more profit for the neutral traders.
Amarr-Jita is actually possible without going to minimatar space nor gallente. So amarr pilots will be capable of going to jita however will see amarr as a good easy spot to pick up ammo and such easily.
Rens will be another great spot to move ships to and bring back other things. As we amarrians will be destoying MANY minmatar ships. Just as amarr will need lots of ammo.

Effect on someone in a Militia VS Caldari: Navy ships try to BBQ you when you enter that space.
Effect on Everyone Else, not participating in a Militia: Nothing.

Most Gallente who can't go to Jita would just go to Oursulaert, Dodixie, or one of the other noteworthy trade hubs. Rens in Minmatar space is a solid choice too. Jita is the biggest hub, but it isn't the only one, nor does it have a monopoly on items. In fact, when people realize there is a market for people who want items from Jita but can't go there themselves, people will buy stuff in Jita and sell it in other hubs at a slight profit. The market will solve its own problems just fine. ---

To be honest never ever thought about that (or have been to Jita). Well if this is true then this is another advantage of the FW. It will force the decentralization of the markets. Time for Jita to relax a bit, and time for pilots to find other markets. ------- Nobody can be exactly like me. Even I have trouble doing it. |

All these dead ships is going to be GREAT for the economy for the smart industrialist anyway. Even weapons and ammo will be used up in greater numbers then ever before.
Perhaps even T1 Cruisers will be a little profitable once again.

i really don't think Jita will be much different since mostly non-combat pilots (industrialists, traders, etc) do business there. and many combat pilots that want to buy/sell in Jita usually have a dedicated Jita-alt anyway. that leaves the gankers and griefers trying to exploit the huge crowds... and well if FW prevents them from being there, that would only be an improvement.
nonetheless, if FW really takes off there will be increasing demand for a non-caldari trade hub. they already exist, but will likely see more activity as militia pilots decide to go to their local trade hubs instead of Jita. this could shift demand out of Jita and slightly lower prices. but somehow i doubt that FW participants will make much of a dent in the overall market activity. if anything, it will increase profit potential from trade routes between the major market hubs. ~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ Take away the risk and it would make flying around in space utterly pointless.
Take away the flying around part and you make EVE into a space themed spreadsheet application. |

I think prices are lower because of Jita, without Jita the prices will increase. Jita is a natural price reducer. People go to Jita because it is cheaper and more of it.

Now i disagree with you there, perhaps for the less bulky items it may be true where volume trade isn't so high, but lots of items in jita trade for a price above that of other nearby hubs because of the fast consumption rate on the market. ------------------------------------------ Sig removed as it lacks EVE-related content. Keep in mind that these FW players will need a constant supply of new ships and moduals.
I'd be willing to bet that there are far more single toon players then there are people with a spare caldari trade alts who have nothing better to do with their time. Especially if the racial trade hubs will ballance themselves over time.

Edited by: Kirra Liu on 05/06/2008 00:40:53 Faction Warfare is a new roleplay aspect to the Ev Universe, as such I think it is a great thing if it is a nightmare for enemies of the Caldari State to trade in Jita, afterall if youre roleplaying do you really want to be spending your hard eaned isk in the enemys major trade hub, funding the enemys war effort. I doubt that if a UK member wanted to buy a new battleship they would get it from a CVA station if they had the option. I know I won't be purchasing goods fom gallente or minmatr stations if I do decide to participate in FW.

The fact that it's a trading post is entirely decided by the players visiting it. FW will probably decrease the importance of Jita somewhat for PvP supplies. The stuff that's only big 'in jita' generally has nothing to do with PvP and will probably not have anything to do with players particpating in FW anyway. Not to mention there's always your trusty alt, the same thing 90% of people in alliances use already due to constant wardecs.

On another note. I see more demand in disposable ships and the associated modules. Demand should increase in the systems near FW and I am making plans accordingly. _____________________________________

Guys, stop viewing Jita as deathtrap for Gallente pilots. Rather, view it as a "target rich environment".

I think there was something mentioned about market alts? Yea, they are pretty easy to create. Hauler alts too.
But of course, this must be the end of Jita, or atleast, once enough ships are there at once activating their warp drives, a black hole will spontaneously form and everything except the kitchen sink will get sucked down it.
I think the drain goes counter-clock wise in that part of New Eden too.

If you don't want it to be there, don't go there – it's not like you can't find stuff just as well elsewhere. If you really think it should move, all you have to do is convince everyone to evacuate Jita. Get cracking.

Most people use alts for trading. Wont really affect it. besides, you don't have to join your races militia form what I understand, or in fact sign up at all. So it's not gonna make a huge impact

It won't have much of an impact I'll guess. FW is optional and players can come and go, with regards to millita membership and the 24 hour cool down, as they please.

Whether its fair or not does not matter. If the gallente dont like it, its up to the gallente players to do something about it.
And I am a gallente player

hhahah i remember you, you frakin noob. I'm not at all surprised that your crying about jita. Even less surprised that you think its "unfair" for the caldari to have the largest trading hub.
you seriously fail much as you did in the other threads. I'll try to enlighten your sorry self, such a daunting task since I'm not sure you can comprehend much. but here goes..
Jita is not an "unfair" advantage. The player base created jita therefore it is not an unfair advantage, its merely a player created trading hub. There is nothing official about it and is in no way sanctioned by CCP.
2 things will happen.
1st the less dense then yourself will create transport alts to buy and trade and transport the goods into their respective zones. It takes how long to get indy 1,2 or even 3? These players will ignore the inherent problems associated with being part of a hostile militia to the caldari state.
2nd players, higher on the foodchain then yourself, will realize there is potential for profit. These players will start to slowly create new trade hubs or will help increase existing hubs. Jita will always be jita but it might be slightly weakened due to FW but then again thats what everyone wants and has been crying and moaning about for years.
1 and 2 are connected as people will likely import ultra cheap jita goods and resell for a profit at the growing local trade hubs.
1 and 2 help negate the "unfair advantage" of jita. The players created jita so they can remove it or replace it if they want to take the effort. people like you will forever be clueless however.
