Since corp standings are calculated using an average of member standings, bringing in members with less than the current corp standing will reduce the corp standing. If you bring in a bunch of folks with less than .5, it's possible to drop the corp standing below .5 and lose militia eligibility. This may not be a huge concern with large corps that have some buffer, but with new corps like mine, it is. At least that's how I understand it to work.

So that means you can allow chars with 0.0 standings to join your corp and they will not drag down the corp's faction standing. Once they gain (or lose) a bit of faction standing they will start to affect the corp's standing, but it shouldn't take long for them get over 0.5 standing once they get going. Another player on Sisi told me he gained 0.26 faction standings from capturing just one enemy installation. Assuming that rate holds on TQ, a player would only have to participate in the capture of two enemy installations to get his standings over 0.5. You may therefore want to consider allowing 0.0 standings chars into your corps. Thanks for clarifying. I did remove that restriction from my own corp earlier today after realizing the non-zero part.
