... and I really enjoy playing Peggle Extreme.
Probably the polar opposite of Dwarf Fortress!
Is there any hope for me, or have I crossed over into the realm of casual gamer?

You should probably get Peggle Deluxe then, it's great fun. Extreme is just a little taster for the real thing.
No shame in enjoying Peggle, it's good fun.

It's a brilliantly addictive game that I think came free with Orange Box on Steam.
It's the demo version with about 6 levels and you can buy the full game quite cheaply.
See this video ... basically you fire a ball and try to desroy all the red balls. The green balls give you a super accurate shot, the purples extra points, the blues just get in the way:

Peggle's great. Sadly, it has as much depth as most games out there, so there's no shame in enjoying it.

Thanks for the link mate. I've only played the freebie so far so only had the character that gives you the accurate shots. I can predict a fair few hours playing the full game this weekend!

I played trough it in a night because I couldn't stop... and was chatting with a mate on ts. Ohhhh the addiction.
