Not sure I understand it so here my questions:
------------------------
1.) A FW player (either by being in the NPC militia or via joining with his corp) creates a fleet with a neutral player (from a neutral NPC corp or a neutral/not in anyway wardecced player corp).
Previously in "normal wardecs" the neutral would show as "normal wardecced target" to the opposing war party but the neutral itself would not have first shot on the opposing party
a.) How does the neutral in fleet show to the opposing FW militia players?
b.) What is the stance according to neutral (CovOp) players in FW fleets providing warp ins on opposing FW milita players for the FW militia they are ganged with?
------------------------
2.) Is the old behaviour still valid for "normal wardecs"?
------------------------
3.) What happens if a player corp A participating in FW is wardecced by player corp B NOT in FW and a player from corp A joins a fleet with neutrals.
a.) How does the neutral appears to a player from corp B?
------------------------

1.) A: As a Neutral. Just like if he wasn't in the gang. B: This is intended game mechanics.
2.) Not sure what you mean exactly here. But the only thing changed is that Wars (be it Militia wars, corporation wars or alliance wars) are now decoupled from Gangs. A gang member will no longer automatically get the "flags" that the other gang members have.
3.) A: They will appear as Neutrals
Feel free to try this out on the test server. It is there so that you can find the answer to your questions.

Casqade is from the old school and obviously refering to fleets since we don't have gangs anymore. I do the same thing.
Fleets and wars are completely decoupled now.

I never understood and still don't understand how wardec agro works on ganged neutrals, if at all.

Prior to the EA expansion, if you ganged with some one who was currently war dec'd, you would be a open target for the opposing side of the war. How ever if u shot at them first, you would get concorded.
They would use this as a scam, War dec and alt corp, and ask peeps to help them with missions and such, and then they would come and gank you on their mains.
After EA this is no longer an issue.

Great news, this will allow people to run missions with semi-strangers again, not to mention be less of a headace for the wardeccer due to random guys not in the target corp showing as hostiles |

It's about time CCP finally fixed that huge screaming exploit that's been used to absolute death for years now.
Too bad, tho, because I was lining up to try it myself... *LOL

Edited by: Durzel on 07/06/2008 09:01:28 So just for clarity sake - are we saying that EA stops "The Lofty Trick" ? Interesting Presumably if a ganged member aids the war target in his gang in any way he/she will then be fair game? I'm hoping that CCP haven't accidentally made gang members immune to aggression, even if they are aiding their "at war" gang mates?...
Originally by: Phrixus Zephyr I never understood and still don't understand how wardec agro works on ganged neutrals, if at all.
This (Lofty) works like this:
1) Neutral A invites you (neutral) to a gang, the warning you get says "no one in the fleet is at war" 2) Neutral A, as fleet leader, warps you to a location 3) Midwarp A invites X, X is a member of a corp that at war with corp Y, you get no warning about this 4) Corp Y members are waiting at your warp destination and open fire on you without CONCORD intervention as you are a valid war target to them (guilty by association).
This trick works on the premise that you only receive a warning about wardecs, etc when YOU join a fleet, not when anyone else does. So, there's no way of knowing whether the people who get invited are at war or not, and since you can't exit warp you're at the mercy of whoever is waiting for you at the warp destination.
