Hey there. i'm an oldschool eve player on a relatively new gallente character. I've bin interrested in the Gallente Titan "Erebus". My corporation is currently going much for fleet formation and stuff so they wanted somone to head for the titan ship erebus. Since most of the characters allready had their ships that was needed and didnt want to go for the titan i saw my chance to try it out. Allso i have most SP of the remaining characters so i got the position to train for it. Atm i am far away from my goal but here is my question...
Anyone knows how long time it takes to be able to use the titan? I have counted somewhere around 100-130 days but im not sure... anyone who know? To make it easy for thoose who know you can tell me from the starting skills... So far i've done:
Cruiser level 4 (Done) Space ship command level 5 (Done) Battlecruiser level 4 (Done) Battleship level 1 (Need 5) navigation level 5 (Done)
I know i have a long way to go so plz dont give me the "You're just throwing away time for nothing" talk :P i just wanna know how long then i deside my self wheater to or not go for it :P

Google yourself Battleclinic's EVEmon utility. Install, setup and use it... Oh, and add the modules needed too, cause there is a massive difference between being able to board a hull, and actually flying it effectively - that goes for each and every ship, not just titans...it's just that some specialized capital-ship module oriented skills not described by the Hull's info tabs might even effectively double the training time required to fly it. TBH, train the market skills, get rich, and buy a titan/dread pilot.

not to mention the 0.0 alliance capability that is need to support the ship.
Honestly, traing for something else.
Halfway through your training you'll be thinking:
"dang, i could have flown hacs, intys, afs, reconds, and cs's by now, but instead ive got half the skills the fly a ship that i can never afford, build, or maintain"

The alternative is that he somehow gets the ISK to buy it, and does the training for it. If this happens, he will promptly lose it within the first week as he will not have the support fleet or the skills for it.

People farm alt characters for this kind of purpose. Don't divert your main's training for years to be able to fly a ship you'll probably never get. Better to start a second account for the Titan, that way, if you never get to pilot an Erebus yourself, you'll still at least have an alt you can sell for big ISK.
If you insist on training for the Titan with your main, train for a Dreadnought or Carrier instead, as that will get you part way there, and it is within the boundaries of possibility that you may one day get one of these ships.

As has already been said, if you are starting from scratch, then use a 2nd account to train for it so you have a titan alt.
Titan pilots need a minimum of 1 alt to be honest, such as a cov ops/force recon alt. Even then, having another 2-3 extra alts for stuff like Dreadnaught pilot alt and conventional ship alt is reccomended.

First of all you are not 'oldschool eve player', you're a noob that dreams of flying a titan and wants to ask a stupid question without being flamed to death... If you were you'd know that Titans cost hundreds of billions of isk, require support of huge fleets and pilots that are in titans don't ever leave their hull.
To answer your question: It will take you about 4-5 years:
1 year for Titan training - hull plus DD, portals etc. 1 year for Titan specific skills - leadership(you want to be a leader don't you? ) and maxing all of the above 2 years for all support skills - think electronics, navigation, engineering, gunnery/missile, mechanic, drones. basically everything 1 year to realize how stupid this idea is - if you do this first you will save yourself a lot of training ----- Arbitrator - Life & Death

EVE isn't what it used to be ... I remember dreaming of being able to fly a Dominix one day. ;-)
EVE Online: a cold, cruel world where (RL-)rich people replace their losses with GTCs sold to poor students who need to farm ISK to afford their play time ...

This. It's not so unrealistic nowadays. I personally had the chance of flying a Wyvern once but ditched because I find capitals to be boring.
Anywya, OP, you'll probably never fly a Titan. My probably is well over 95% since I'm being cool and not saying "You'll NEVER fly a Titan"... EVE is changing. But if you do, it will be well over a year from now. Well over.
And that's if you buy a titan-ready character. Because there's NO WAY you'll be ANYWHERE near a Titan with your current character for a long, long, long, LOOOONG time.

I have 20 mil sp (but mostly in battlecruisers and smaller, and spread over all 4 factions). I just calculated through Evemon that it would take me about a year to be able to fly a Titan (of course, I don't want to, and couldn't even if I did want), use the most essential equipment on it, and have somewhat decent relevant support skills.
