Deus Ex is still one of my favourite games. The second one is not really worth it - since buying it, I have had 3 computers which refused to run it so I thought it would be a spectacular game to play, at least graphics-wise. Pro tip: it's not. The story and game play are strictly average too. __________________________

Not really since you can get it for free nowadays.

Free Deus Ex
bugger, doesn't work outside the US.
Doesn't it? In truth, I haven't tried because I have the disc. __________________________

Originally by: EvilPhog I've had it for absolutely donkeys years but never got around to getting through it. Maybe I will this summer now that I'm taking a semi-break from EVE.
It might be a bit of a bear getting it to work properly on a modern computer. I know I used to have a problem with it running twice as fast as normal because I have a dual core CPU. It somehow fixed itself, but I don't know how... __________________________

Originally by: easei I never played the first one, but I got the 2nd for my xbox a while back was a fairly decent game. Too short, at the end I definitly wanted more, and sort of too easy depending on which bio-mods you chose. (lol thermal masking and invisibility.)
I'll try out the first in a bit, but as for the 3rd can't say I will edios has a long way to go to make up for the abomination and colossal drama of kane and lynch.
Ah, the bliss of not having to compare a game to it's predecessor. Alas, I played DX1 THEN DX2 so I found DX2 horrible.
By the way, the graphics in DX1 are horrible, but don't let that put you off. There's a HDTP (High-definition texture package) project going on for Deus Ex that will be able to replace the textures for every object in the game for higher definition ones. They're apparently nearly finished too. I wouldn't be surprised if they released it within a month. __________________________

Yeah, I chose the computer ending first time. The Illuminati ending just replaces the dictator. Sure, he might be benevolent, but what about his successor? The "destroy the internet" ending never really appealed either. It would cause a lot of suffering in the short term, and eventually some bastard will rise to the top and seize power just like Bob Page did. At least merging with the computer ensures a benevolent ruler without worrying about successors, since the computer will last for as long as there are people to maintain it.
I've thought about this waaaaay too much. |

Surely you're talking about Deus Ex 2?
That was fail. Universal Ammo Supplies is the worst idea ever created by mankind. Ever.
"Used all your shotgun rounds? Switch to a pistol! Oh wait, that uses the same ammo as the shotgun.. So much for the entire point of a sidearm"
As for the original Deux Ex, thats a masterpiece. Good duration, great story, awesome graphics (for the time).
There's no Hong Kong in DX2. |

I think maybe he's saying that Reven Cordelle mixed up the two, because how could anyone hate the ammo system in DX1.
Exit question for everyone: What was your favorite weapon in DX1 and why?
Dragon Tooth Sword. Because it's blue and glowy and kills people in one swipe. |

Originally by: Kusha'an Agreed. Dragon Tooth Sword allows you to sneak around without a flashlight. A silenced, scoped sniper rifle cannot be trifled with though.
Anyone else find out about the bug in Vandenburg AFB that allows you to get infinite skillpoints?
Yeah, there was that keypad that gave you I think 500 SP every time you typed in the correct code. It got a bit tedious though, and I never stuck at it long enough to get master skill level in every field. __________________________
