Not to be forgotten in the aftermath of today's unprecedented events, there was a decisive and brutal engagement between loyalist and terrorist forces two days ago. To illustrate the weakness of Matari forces, Vigilia Valeria Command has given authorisation to dispense this report.
At approximately 1820 hrs the Vigilia Valeria and PIE fleets left their respective headquarters and set course for the Republic, to dispense the Pax Amarria and beseech the people of the Republic for peace. The two units combined along route to form a mighty golden fleet which quickly made progress towards Pator.
Upon arrival, copies of the Pax Amarria were left as presents to the population of Pator at key locations around the system while Admiral Rodj Blake of PIE and Centurio Haverloth of Vigilia Valeria once more implored the people of the Republic to join their peace-loving neighbours in the Mandate and the Empire. A short time after the speeches, we received word that our Ammatar allies San Matari had pinned down a group of Murientor Tribe near Gyng. Changing to battle formation, the Golden Fleet moved to Gyng with all haste.
Quickly forcing the Murientor to withdraw, the Golden Fleet liased with the San Matari formation and held the gate into Onga. Intelligence had by this time reported a large enemy fleet heading in our direction.
The battle of Gyng began with the engagement of a lone enemy Rifter which was swiftly despatched. A large combined enemy force consisting of elements of the Ushra'Khan, Murientor Tribe, and Electus Matari followed. During the ensuing engagement, both sides inflicted heavy damage onto each other, with many battleships, command ships, and battlecruisers being destroyed on both sides. However, the losses to the enemy were far more grevious both in number and type, with no less than 14 Matari battleships being destroyed for less than half that amount lost to the Golden Fleet.
The enemy fleet withdrew and scattered after such heavy losses, and a hearty Amarr Victor was broadcast on all frequencies. It was also made apparent that in the heat of battle, a long-standing grudge between Vigilia Valeria had been settled and the Electus Matari leader Evanda Char had been killed and her corpse recovered whilst artillery and laser-fire burned the skies.
Whilst the Golden Fleet performed damage control and recalibrated crystals to fire once more, a second wave of enemies was already on its way. Unfortunately Localised Anomolous Gravitational errors were causing significant difficulties for many of the pilots, and their ships were slow to respond. It appears that these L.A.G. Errors were also affecting the Matari ships that were inbound. Just as the Golden Fleet prepared to fight again, the situation started to change.
Admiral Rodj Blake, who was declared operational commander for both wings, received intelligence that the Minmatars were gathering in larger numbers than before, and given that the Loyalists had lost a significant portion of their firepower, decided to withdraw the allied forces.
At this time Vigilia Valeria are in possession of what we believe to be the corpse of the terrorist harlot Evanda Char. Currently undergoing a post-mortem examination by our technicians, we will decide on the fate of the -VV- - EM war once we have determined without any doubt that the witch-like corpse is indeed that of the witch Char.
