Edited by: Evanda Char on 10/06/2008 20:30:21 In spite of wildfire rumours spread by Scope reporters about Prime Minister-emeritus Midular disappearing after being escorted from Parliament by Fleet officers, and reports of Minmatar ships attacking CONCORD, there is no evidence at all of the Republic being involved in either the attacks on CONCORD nor on Sarum.
All Republic Fleet ships were fully accounted for at last reckoning. Forces loyal to the Minmatar Republic are proceeding about their daily business of mining and industry, and absolutely not preparing for war.
Further, reports of EM engaging in secret diplomatic meetings in preparation for hostilities over recent days are completely false. Meetings took place and were concerned solely with resolving standings issues and investigating purported incidents of piracy.
While there was indeed a large-scale clash with a coalition of Amarr loyalist forces in Gyng yesterday, this was solely over local complaints about them littering and causing traffic disruption in areas around stargates. It was not by any means a sign of the escalation of our conflict, and we still hold hopes for a peaceful resolution to the Amarr's blatant aggression.
Now, I suggest everyone calm down and drink some tea. Biscuit, anyone?

How do you explain the Republic forces allowing terrorists to escape into Republic space in a cowardly attempt to race retribution for their actions.
The Minmatar race will be held accountable for the decisions of their elders. |

CONCORD systems were in disarray all day. Normal system monitoring will have been severely impacted by this.
I'm certain that both Fleet and CONCORD would have reacted to the presence of flagged vessels had they been able.

Be aware, however, that we will not permit any attempts at genocide from aggressive forces. I strongly advise the Amarr to rethink that line as soon as possible.

I'm at the same time pleased by the violent ability of the Tribes and disappointed it was used so foolishly to start a conflict they can not win.
Perhaps there is still some fighting spirit in the husk bodies of the republic's herd population. Perhaps the Khimera are not the only ones with fire still inside them.
I look forward to helping Reclaim Pator. This will be most enjoyable.
Inquisitor Kador, I do hope you have the facilities to hold the nefantar and other minmatar traitors for purification. If not I guess they will have to meet their Maker directly from the battlefield. |

Okay, look. As much as I like Electus Matari, this is going a bit far. The Republic fleet let those elders and Thukkers and whatnot into their territory despite the CONCORD ultimatum, and they were cheered on by billions of throats.
You don't necessarily think that it was the right thing to do, but please; stop being diplomatic. You were not involved, and you don't need to cover for other organizations. If the Republic Fleet decided to ignore CONCORD, then you had no say in that decision and cannot be blamed. They took the decision upon themselves. Please, don't demean yourselves by trying to excuse it away.

In addition to Evanda's comment on the likelyhood that system monitoring is experiencing massive difficulties, what news we have from The Scope had them as moving through Republic space into the Great Wildlands, which is not claimed by the Republic or any other government entity. The Republic Fleet also likely had other concerns, related to whether the Amarr force in pursuit of the rogue fleet felt like continuing pursuit and possibly laying siege to various Republic worlds in retribution.
But this is, of course, speculation. I look forward to press releases from the involved parties that might shed more light on what exactly just happened than a Gallentean news reporting agency that is known to play things up for sensationalism and ratings. |

I have great respect for you Lady Rhiannon, but look at the People now; their hopes, their fears, their pain and their Freedom. It is all real again! It is all taken away from the talks and back-room chambers to something concrete for us all to witness and experience. It is what freedom is all about, you have to live it, not talk about it!
Even more so, the tribal Elders have shown the way for our People by retrieving the Starkmanir Tribe, freeing millions of slaves, showing the Tribes are united in their struggle and above all have shown to us all our People have first strike capabilities to reach the heart of our enemies.
I will be loyal to that call; the Republic will be loyal to that call when I see the people in the streets. You as a respected Tribal member should be loyal to that call and not dismiss it like this.
Will it be hard? Will we suffer? Will we struggle? Will we all be free? I say "yes" to it all, as we know it will not be in vain. In the end, The Republic will emerge stronger from this Tribal operation today as more heroes will inspire us towards where we all should be. A free people in a Minmatar Republic.
We can only hope that the Republic leaders will make the right decisions in the the days to come and finish what our Elders started today.

The Fleet is currently slightly preoccupied with such small tasks as trying to keep order in the Republic because our government has gone missing or got slaughtered by these nice guys from that fleet (good friends of ours, obviously), trying to keep the various riots on planets under control, and other such mundane tasks. A large fleet crossing our territory without engaging us is the least of our concerns.
And just to put this misinformation quoted above right: CONCORD's ultimatum was about aggression on hostile territory, which we never did. There was no ultimatum from CONCORD to all empires to engage the mystery fleet. The Republic Fleet did not violate any CONCORD regulation at any point. |

A few minor points, Redbad. First off, neither Elsebeth nor anyone else from clan Rhiannon has posted in this thread. Second off, the only mention of said Elders is from a report by The Scope; as I said a sensationalized Gallentean news agency, and even they admitted that that part may be need to be taken with a grain of salt.
When people own up to what happened, discuss their parts in it, call for any action from the capsuleer community we can discuss the implications of it, make decisions, take action, and everything else. If you prefer to take action without any such knowledge, that's your perogative. Personally, I will continue to make preparations for defending the people of the Republic from any outside incursion until my leadership has enough information to decide on any other course of action. |

By saying the Forces loyal to the Minmatar Republic are proceeding about their daily business of mining and industry, and absolutely not preparing for war.
The happenings today brought great joy and hope to many of the People at a time it was much needed, but if you think that Amarrian retaliation will pass by the Republic just because "technically" Republican forces were "not involved", think again. The Tribal Elders were not involved? Next thing is you suggesting the Jovians did it. I believe Scope's reports.
The risks taken today by our leaders, for the future of our people, are tremendous. The Amarrians will come down hard on everything that smells as much as Minmatar. But they took the risks, they took the chance kowingly and willingly risking the Republic's sovereignty even if they are not part of it; not because they do not cherish the Republic, but more so because they cherish the People that will defend it and all it stands for.
This Minmatar is preparing for war and will not drink tea and have some bisquits.

So, without any statement from the forces themselves, you're going to believe the word of The Scope that a group long thought exterminated came back to lead a series of warfleets? Compared to that, and on that evidence, why *not* assume the Jovians did it; they at least are occasionally seen to act in the cluster. You of course are free to believe whatever you wish; I am waiting for a statement from the people in question.
What I've seen is a group starting an offensive without a declaration of war from our government. Whether it's what our government would have decided to do or not is immaterial, whatever reasons they're acting for are immaterial, as far as we know they are acting without any sanction from the Republic government. What gives them the right to subvert the will of the tribes and the process that the tribes use to assert that will?

It is a sad day. A day of loss, destruction and suffering to the Ammatar. All told, the enemy has retreated with his tail between his legs.
Yet at our moment of triumph against the tribal enemy it has been reported that we were struck in the back by our leaders. Consulate Governor Ana Utulf, it is crucial that you clear your name. If the Consulate governor does not dispell these rumours of people of authority encouraging defections to the tribals, we will be forced to unilaterally withdraw our recognition of the Consulate's legitimacy.
I implore Mandate forces to remember the shining example of the legendary Commander Genom Tara, who in his passion for justice would not retreat from the gore of battle with the enemy. Ignore the hypocritical senile 'elder' fools, they are of those who claim wisdom but negotiate by the gun.

Those who betray the empire are enemies of the San Matari alliance, but I start to get the feeling that we're caught between a rock and a hard place...
