Originally by: Andreus Ixiris It has been quite clearly shown that the security of all nations is already a matter that they really must take into their own hands. Faith in CONCORD's ability to protect has been shattered. And I feel that neither the Federation, nor the Republic nor even the State shall ever be safe in a world where the Amarr exist.
Well, honestly, was anyone really expecting CONCORD to protect them? Considering how frequently the member states have been raided by each other's paramilitary groups, one can hardly have expected CONCORD to stop a full-fledged assault from one party's navy. CONCORD has for years allowed terrorists and slavers to run wild in the border regions between the empires.
I personally cannot fathom how the Amarr allowed the fleet to penetrate as far as they did. One would have thought the obvious fall of the Midular government and the potential ascendency of the terrorist factions would have been enough to get the Navy on its feet. Or at the very least, they might have wanted to have them ready to receive all of those wayward Matari who... *starts to laugh* ...fleeing the violence... *laughs some more* ...would come running into the arms of their righteous protectors! *bursts out laughing* |

Considering that all pod pilot forces were grounded.
Given that, the snipes about not undocking seem quite desperate.
Also in the immediate run up to the carnage of today, PIE was involved alongside other Pro-Amarrian forces in a fleet engagement against Anti-Amarrian forces with heavy casualties on both sides that left an estimated 86,000 terrorist crew dead.
That is a paltry number after the carnage wrought today...
But I guess that the dead Matari in the second EM/Amarrian battle of Gyng were killed by some sort of strange psychic force emanating from a station as we do not undock.
We will get our Vengeance. The blood of the enemies of God will run in rivers.

And to the rest of the galaxy, I'm afraid... Quote: What justice can there be in any structure that allows the sort of abuses that Amarr inflict upon their slaves?
Look, Andreus, I know a frankly unbelievable number of slavers wheel out the whole "but I'm nice to my slaves!" excuse, and I know that there are some who really are horrible to their slaves. I've seen both extremes in my time. The average seems to be a case of tough love. Most slaves are not treated like full humans because, in the eyes of the holders, they aren't. Neither are they actively mistreated either, because that's counter-productive. Most don't live bad lives, if I'm honest. Sure, they aren't free, but they're fed, clothed, housed, given medical care and a degree of recreational time. Their lives may be regimented, but in the end the average slave in the Empire, as far as I could tell, is nowhere near half as badly-off as you make out
You're tarring all Amarr with the same brush, refusing to accept that your image of things is unrealistic. The dials of Reality are NEVER cranked to one of the extremes, but your image of them is. The Amarr are not wholly Evil, just as the Minmatar are not wholly Good. Neither of those extremes can exist.
You're a true extremist, Andreus - convinced that the world is a place of stark contrasts, and that anything that falls outside of your particular contrast zone should be annihilated. Reality is not even a grey scale. Reality is THIS.

Edited by: Veron Daerth on 10/06/2008 23:58:50 Hail my fellow pilots. It is a sad day indeed. Many have fallen on all sides of this conflict and I forsee it growing larger in the near future.
Some have said that just because the Amarrian Empire does not conform to their ideals of morality and equity, it must be destroyed and that the laws of a civilized universe must, therefore, not apply to the Empire. This is folly, as the laws enacted by a consensus of delegates representing the interests of all the nations that participate in the Concord Assembly must be obeyed by all members of the nations represented there. Just because you dont like the law doesnt mean you get to pass on it. The slavers that have plagued the Matari worlds in recent times have all been criminals in the eyes of all law-abiding Amarrians because actively enslaving any new slaves from outside the Empire has been condemned by the Chancellor (in lieu of an Emperor) as illegal. Hence the term "Rogue Slavers" make note of the term "rogue"... as in "outlaw, uncontrolled, criminal, etc." And before you who whine about this begin again, perhaps you should also ask "If the State has issues controlling the Gurista's, or Federation cannot squash the Serpentis, or the Matari cannot overcome the Angel's, why should the Empire then have any better success with black market slavers?"
I understand that many want things to be different in the Empire. People in Hell want ice water. Get over it. I am considered to be rather moderate in my ideals and ways of thinking when it comes to slaves and such. I provide for them well, care for them and believe that as their Master, I also owe them some things along the lines of some comforts and care. I have outlined these thoughts elsewhere, and wont re-hash them again for your edification. Real change happens slowly everywhere, and doubly so for the Empire. You must have patience and really, have to look at it from a generational viewpoint. My great-grandfather was accredited to be rather harsh and unyielding to his slaves, my grand father and father less so, and I am today accused of being "soft" on them. But my factories produce more efficiently, and have much better quality products because of that "softness". I believe that meeting my production quota's and having the best quality goods possible benefits the Empire more than unthinking conservatism. Do not get me wrong, I love the Empire, and believe that God has placed us here for a reason. Perhaps it is to bring enlightenment and salvation to all the heretics out there, I just believe that killing them all to teach them a lesson is ... well... defeating the purpose.
Bah, enough of this. You may disagree with me, and that is your right according to the law you denounce so shrilly. But it is also my right to live according to the word of my God, real or not. And my God tells me that I am to teach the heretics and unbelievers. They are, because I got them from my father, slaves. They were born that way, and at least on my estates, they dont die that way. I care for them, as God instructs us to do, I teach them of Him and how he expects us to comport ourselves. This barbaric and random slaughter of anyone that stands in your way is, frankly, archaic and ineffective. We Amarrians have actually learned that, figuratively speaking, taking someone and bashing his head against the Holy Texts doesnt really get you anywhere. Its better to have an actually informative, organized class, complete with students that arent perpetually hungry and in agony, as this detracts from the whole learning experience and doesnt encourage the student to learn anything. It is unfortunate that the students are slaves in this case, but that is slowly changing. Emphasis on slowly. Like all things in the Empire. Remember, patience is a virtue.

I am utterly shocked by todays events.
I would like to thank Rodj Blake for this quick statement of PIE Inc. I fully support any retaliation by Amarr forces against the monstrous terrorists that attacked the peaceful Amarr Empire.
While punishment is needed for those outlaws, I would like to remind my fellow Amarrians that not all Matari fall under this category.
I pray that our military actions against minmatar rebels may be fruitful and at the same time I pray for those Matari that secretly support us to stay safe and sound.
With God on our side, all will be well.

There are many times I strongly disagree with statements issued from the mouths of liberalists, and with every fiber of my soul I reject their tainted theology -- this, however, is not one of those times.
I hope recent events serve as a revelation to them, and others, who have strayed from the path of Lord God. I am highly impressed with their recent vigor and resolve. For the Empire to return to path of righteousness and glory, the Amarrians must start acting like Amarrians -- it is that simple.
The backward policies of Region-Loser and Slave-Friend have failed. The time for talk has past and let the Empire be forevermore stronger for it. Let conflict be met with conflict; let the Will of Lord God be done. |

INCOMING COMMUNICATION
Ship: TES Flight of Angels Class: Archon Carrier Commanding: Vice-Admiral Archbishop, PIE Location: Classified
For centuries the Amarr have nurtured and cared for the wayward Minmatar. We have sought to enlighten them and bring them the benefits of a life with God as their guide. This is how they repay us.
While I would normally call for restraint and prayer this is not an average day. Our holy empire has been attacked without cause by the very heathens we seek to help. The Minmatar treachery will not go into the night unresponded to. The forces of Amarr and it's loyalists will answer the call and bring the light of God into the darkest den of heathen treachery.
The fires of Matar will become the fires of their cities and hovels as the purging laser fire of righteousness rains down upon them. By attacking Amarr they attack all we believe in thus they attack our God Himself. This can not stand. It must not. The days of peace have been ended by the heathens. The days of war will be ended by the Amarr as the flag of the empire is finally planted over Pator once again.
Righteousness... Loyalty... Honor... Strength...
Hallmarks of the Amarrian way of life and the way we serve. God will bring us the strength and guidance we need to defeat the enemies of faith and will shepard in a new era of Amarr justice throughout their so-called "Republic". The Minmatar were not content to stay as they were instead they have betrayed the peace and struck out at the peaceful Amarr.
They will come to learn it was a mistake.

War.
You know that's a very strange word to use so freely because most human beings understand it is a dire act. It is an act that only brings one thing, and that is death. There are no winners in war because you have failed at diplomacy so you should remember that before saying you won anything. All I see here are children bickering at the Chosen for the acts that were commited years ago and acts we did not want to repeat. The Chosen tried for years to try to bring diplomacy to the table, and this is how we were repaid.
You stand on your high and righteous chair! You stand and you beat your chest proudly as thousands of men, women and children who had nothing to do with the age old conflict were butchered like cattle. And through this all, you call us the ones in the wrong. You point your fingers at the Chosen and you scream that we were in the wrong... point those fingers at the Elders.
Your elders Matari, they truely gave you a wonderful gift. They gave you war, and the war they gave you is a conflict that will cost the lives of thousands more Matari. You praise the Defiants and the tribe for their acts this day and yet they murdered innocents. So those of you standing proud for them, remember and consider who you are supporting. You call us bloodthirsty, and then you praise acts like this. You call us murderers and yet you raise a fist in salute to the Matari who died today. You call us religious zealots...
I call you hypocrite's.

These interstellar laws are your laws. They protect you in enslaving our kin. Past crimes can be forgiven, but those that happen today are cannot.
Even after a thousand years, kin are kin, and born as Matari to be Matari. If they were meant to be Amarrian, the Creator would have made them thus.
You are right to be aggrieved against the Matari people. Those now accepted as elders by the people of the Tribes have committed a monstrous act upon you, taking the stain of blood upon themselves as the Republic did not act to rescue our lost cousins. If the people of the Tribes accept them as elders then they also accept what follows.
I fear, however, that this was provoked. For over nine hundred years our people have been violated by the Empire. Even those separated for nearly a thousand years share the blood and spirit common to their Tribe, and those who passed before cry out as brother neglects brother. For a hundred years the Republic has allowed this to continue. It has failed the Tribes, for it does not seek to free those brothers and sisters held against their will, abused, enslaved, and addicted.
That you express shock is natural, but this expression cannot be truly felt. PIE has fought long against those considered heroes by many on Matar. There is no excuse to fail to recognize that with the Caldari mobilizing against the Gallente, and with the words of our beloved Ambassador, and with your vacuum of leadership, and with the utter failure of the Republic Prime Minister to attract support for her policy of appeasement, something would break.
The only shock that you should be feeling is that the Tribes are capable of crippling CONCORD and striking deep within your seat of power, and that it took a resurrected Heir to stop it.
Perhaps your new Emperor?

So, I see that the pounding of the drums have reached all the way to the heart of the Empire. Excellent. Standing there, so very sanctimonious in your belief. How does it feel to know that, regardless of what you do, and what you think you have, it can be shattered by the faces of the past? The Elders, if it was truly them, seem to have God on their side. They took on CONCORD HQ, after giving them a large amount of warning, and WON.
Following that, they visited Amarr and Ammatar space, rescued hundreds of thousands of slaves, including the Starkmanir, and escaped with few losses until Sarum, a heretic if she still lives, intervened.
So, in short for the more challenged: Everything you thought was right, is wrong. The "savages" you sought to tame, have proved uncontrollable. And your saviour is a heretic, on the level of the Blood Raiders. How does it feel? Do you feel betrayal? Rage? An urge to lash out?
Welcome to reality. |

The Republic has failed. The Tribes acted because our government did not act to protect our own. CONCORD is an agent for peace, and this was a time for war. Thus, CONCORD had to be dealt with to allow the Tribes to act.
You forget to detail the hundreds of Republic bureaucrats killed by the Elder fleet. Those who have failed to serve the Tribes, to be the voice of the will of the people and of those who passed before, were sent to their reckoning.
In war, one cannot target as well as in the halls of bureaucracy. Unfortunately, CONCORD does not grant passes for invasion. With the failure of the Midular government to act on the news of our long-lost cousins, the Elders did what the Republic refused to do.
I very much doubt that the Republic government will have the same faces in a week. |

They know that those who passed before will not know peace until all of their children are free. Elders are elders because they understand how tribe functions: kin before self. If my brother or my cousin suffers, then I suffer as well. We are connected by the blood of those who passed before which we share. This has always been true of tribal society. Much of what is happening in the Caldari State is an expression of the same ideas.
In the end, a people can only bear so much and the weight of doing nothing becomes too great.
CONCORD was warned that the Matari could not continue as things were. Our beloved ambassador was banned for speaking what every Matari child learns as truth. No distance of space or time can truly separate those who were taken from us. We are they, and they are we. |

It was important to include, as it was those who were eliminated who brought this on by their inability to act on the will of the Tribes. Elders are the final arbiters of justice, and saw fit to punish those who refused to serve their kin despite their opportunities and training. |
