Originally by: Miasia Yesterday i did some exploration. I Found a unknown signature and scanned it down. As soon as i entered it, there poped a message up, that this is the "Serpentis-Phi Outpost 4/10". I tought this would show up on the multispectral probe results at a waypost. Is this a bug or is this intended?
Best Regards
Miasia
I hate to quote myself but i found the answer. In the patchnotes to build 56866 there is the following sentence:
Quote:
Using Multispectral Probes will allow static dungeons, hidden or not, to show up as Wayposts and not Unknown. These can now be scanned down.
I would bug report it, but i cant reach bugs.eve-online.com from germany

What possible use is it to return a result of "waypost" in a system with a marked beacon i.e. "Serpentis Drug whatever"
When #1 - its clearly visable on overview
And
#2 - it's not scanable as I have dropped a probe right next to the damn beacon and it dosen't return a hit. (after 2 freaking hours)
CCP how about a fix here... If we explorers get a hit from a multispectral then please make sure there is a "scanable" site for us to find.
Thanks

Found a Waypost and an Unknown in E-BWUU (Fountain) which turned out to be a Serpentis Base; which should have been a normal unknown imho. There was also a drone plex (radiance?) present. I probbed both down and cleared the Serpentis Base and left the drone plex (lame and way too dangerous for its rewards). Then rechecked with a multispec to see the waypost gone.
Sooooo the Serpentis Base which should have been a normal unknown was showing up as a waypost.
Now this system has a cosmos beacon since its the entry point into pegasus, but strangely enough it didnt show on the multispec after i cleared the Serpentis Base.
Ps: pleaaaase add dead-end messages to all unknowns if they arent escalating. - - -

Originally by: CCP Greyscale Yup, any complex which has a fixed position is now a Waypost. Previously at least some of these were showing up as "Unknown" which was confusing the hell out of people. If it's visible as a beacon it's unlikely that it's possible to probe it, and pointless to do so anyway. If you get a "Waypost", there's no beacons in the system and you can't scan it down, please defect it, clearly stating the system you found it in :)
Roger! I've been getting Waypost hits in systems without an overview beacon outside the Csomos Constellations. It's been bugging me too! Removed. Please keep your EVE signature related to your EVE persona and not that of a real life politician. Navigator |

Interesting thread... much useful info.
Saying that still not managed to scan down any waypoints when they pop in from multispec scan... do Cosmic Agent sites appear as waypoints? |
