So...this means I can finally toss my windows partition?
Bags me for beta testing - I have Mac OSx 10.4 AND 10.5 on 2 partitions plus a number of video cards to run through.

Another empty promise. What does it say when you can't even meet a deadline for a simple blog post? |

It's funny how easily 'promises' and 'deadlines' are deduced. That statement (probably purposefully) left a lot of room for interpretation. You choose a strict one, and it burned you. Way to blame CCP

Yeah, in CCP's defense, Lingorm did say it "should" be out next week. Not "it absolutely without the faintest shadow of doubt will" be out next week.
Still, how long could a dev blog possibly take?

I've got this vision of what life is like at CCP. I bet they are all there reading the forums laughing their heads and wondering out loud "how long do you think we can string these idiots out for ?"

I find it ludicrous that anyone could defend a policy of purposeful vagueness, if that is indeed what is happening here. It would show a complete contempt for the customer. Frankly, I just chalk it up to the CCP as a whole having very poor project management skills as well as a mere indifference to the customer.
Anyway, I chose a rather reasonable interpretation of the statements we've been given. Notice that I did not post until Monday, the 30th of June, even though CCP Lingorm's statements were made on Thursday, the 19th of June. We are past any reasonable definition of the "next week" from the 19th of June, be it 7 days after, or the calendar week after (with the definition of week being Sunday through Saturday), or the calendar week after (with the definition of week being Monday through Sunday).
I'm also basing my interpretation on my own job, where- I said I would release a feature by a certain time
- then did not follow through
- then did not say anything about not following through
- then did not release the comment about not following through by the time when I said I should have it done
...well, I would be looking for a new job.
Also, just as an aside, I'd like to point out that this is the final day of (calendar) Q2 2008. Of course, now I expect the CCP fanbois to claim something ridiculous like, "but when CCP told us Premium for Mac and Linux is due to be released in Q1 of next year, they could have meant US Government Fiscal Q1 of next year...which starts 2008 October 1!" |

It could take weeks, I bet the blog have to be routed to a few people to sign off on it, I bet it goes to a proofreader, then back to the author for fixing, then back to the proofreader, then the devs, then to management, then back to the author, repeat till everyone signs off on it. |

Edited by: Remus Navillum on 30/06/2008 21:27:02 Maybe they're waiting until tomorrow to give it to us so that they can put it up alongside the whole website upgrade and 1.01 patch deployment. I guess. Maybe bundling all that business together makes stuff easier?
Nevertheless, I am an impatient consumer. CATER TO MY NEEDS OR I WILL GO TO ICELAND AND POO IN YOUR FILE CABINETS.

I agree with Baron.. sorry CCP, but if you mention any time frame at all, as a company you should stick to it.. or at least give reasons why you haven't. Obviously it has taken you almost until the end of Q2 to even begin to explain what's happening about the mac premium client, and now it honestly does look like you are going to string us all along again for an undisclosed amount of time... how nice! |

Likely CCP is waiting with the devblog until they can get the premium beta-testing program ready, which might have hit a few snags.

There's entirely too much boohoo in this thread. Obviously, premium content for OS X is in the works; you are essentially crying about the official announcement not being officially announced when one CCP employee said it might be announced.
Unbunch your underwear and wait calmly like the rest of us.

I know what's happening ... instead of releasing the Premium version for MAC they decided to fix the regular one... they found so many bugs while trying to make it a native MAC application and now all of CCP staff is working on it. Full speed, large scale.
or they could be at the beach enjoying their payed time off
