I'm being told by a few friends their projectile turret skills are stacking.. small stacking with medium.. stacking with large. This is making projectile do way more damage than hybrid/lasers.
Anyways, this sounds majorly messed up if it's true, projectiles do seem to be the weapon of choice.. and they do seem to do the most damage of all the weapons out there, this might explain why.
Anyone else noticing this?

I second that. I have small and medium projectile skills and their damages bonus are cumulative.

I think when you see people in Mallers, Thoraxes, and Moas all using projectile weapons, it's a good indication something is obviously wrong with projectiles. :)
Anyways, this is probably one of the biggest bugs in Eve and I am pretty shocked it was not addressed in the patch. I submitted a bug report about it quite a few days ago and there has been nothing done about it. CCP isn't even acknowledging it I guess, I wish they would. I assume they know about it.. but having them comment would make me feel a little better, at least.
PVP is highly stacked to favor projectiles, I hope this is fixed very soon.

Doesn't seem to stack for me, and the reason projectiles might seem to do more damage is because they have a chance of doing some insane crits, although very rare. The biggest crit I've done is 505dmg with a dual 425mm scout, but that was before the hydralics nerf :)

Aye, they are indeed stacking, just trined lvl 1 medium Projectile and my dual 150 scout went from 4.5ish to 4.76ish.

Yeah I just looked at my damage mods, my Dual 425's are at 5.8, when they should be at about 4.8. Seems my lv 3 small projectile skill is giving them bonus as well. Never even noticed that before.

I'm starting to think it's the weapons not the skills causing these numbers.
Unequip the gun and any devices then relog. Check the damage on the gun before installing. A 250 light artillery cannon has a 3.25 damage modifier( amazing they can actually show more then a whole number). Equip the gun then check the stats. Might have to undock to check the real value.
My small project skill is lvl 3 for 15% and surgical strike is lvl 2 for 6%
3.25 * 1.15 * 1.06 = 3.96175.
My medium skill is also lvl 3 and appears no stacking at all here.

grmbl, lvl4 caldari frig(flying merlin so should give 20% more damage for hyrbid), lvl4 small hybrid yet damage mod for 150mm gauss is only 3.6(base 3.0). boo

I have no idea what's going on, but in a moa with heavy beam lasers I'm getting a 40% bonus to damage with no modules installed. My medium energy is at level 3 as is small energy, so even if they were stacking that's only a 30% bonus. My surgical strike is level 2 meaning if everything stacked I'd have a 36% bonush, not 40%.
Figure this out ccp, I don't mind having a 6.2 damage modifier with my weapon upgrades, but it's getting out of hand at the moment.

By the way, your maths are a bit wrong, you're not calculating the bonuses properly.
you calculated the second bonus on top of the other one, instead of adding both together and THEN calculating it.
3.25 * 1.15 * 1.06 =/= 3.25 * 1.21 3.25 * 1.15 * 1.06 === (3.25 * 1.15) * 1.06

What your suggesting is it should be 3.25 * 1.21 ?
The outcome would be 3.9325 and it's not.

Ehxo got it right, 3.25*1.15*1.06 does NOT equal 3.25*1.21
so with lvl 3 small and lvl 3 medium and lvl 2 sharpshooter the total bonus would be 1.15*1.15*1.06 = 1.40185
btw, I think its nice that small and medium and large skills stack, it gives you an incentive to train all skills.

Think he got it wrong and I thought I pointed that out with the formula that yeilded the correct result.
I have level 3 medium as well and it does not apply to my weapons, so I don't know where your getting the extra 1.15. If your in a rifter don't forget you get 5% per frigate level and thats probably where your seeing it from.

I use projectiles exclusively on a Rupture and have not noticed anything unusual lately. For referrence I use 425mm AC's.

well it stacks for me for certain. Trainled lvl 1 Medium Turret, and Scout 150 went from 4.5 to 4.8 immeadiatly, then trained LVL 2 Medium Proj, and it went from 4.8 to 5.05 upong completion.
