Edited by: Bablu Hassan on 11/06/2008 10:04:14 Edited by: Bablu Hassan on 11/06/2008 10:03:30 After 12 hours of some AMAZING faction warfare vs both Gallente and Minmatar militias, as well as vs an awesome pirate corp(great fight thanks!), I just wanted to post some screenshots and let them do the talking. We engaged about 6 strong fleets and many small skirmishes besides.
Props to our FC and props to the enemies, I look forward to many fun battles in the future (including getting our butts kicked too!).

After all was said and done, we lost about 10 ships (that im aware of) and we were able to inflict well over 100 casualties.

Edited by: Nyphur on 11/06/2008 10:19:32 Am I missing something? It takes 24h to join a militia, so are people just getting a start on fighting in lowsec? It's not faction warfare if you're not signed up, it's just warfare. EDIT: I'm guessing it's only 24h for corps judging by the fact that there are 107 people in both corp and militia chat in the screenshots. My mistake.

Yes, but when you sign up as a single person you do not. At least not when you sign up from a NPC corp, or if you sign up from a player corp where you do not have any roles I would expect. ---------------- Mr. Science & Trade Institute |

Steamrolled them. It's hard to determine what actually occurred, however, because no killboard will yet accept killmails from faction warfare. Actual statistics are therefore unavailable. |

Quality is alternative blobbing. What makes a blob a blob is raw numbers, whether those be in SP, isk in fittings, or ships. The concept of blobbing is such that predetermined resources decide the battle before the first shots are fired. Only on equal ground can individual skill outside of these factors play a role. |

We usually did have larger numbers, but not by as much as you would think.
It's a true testament to the leadership and organization that the Caldari FW had today because of the low number of ships lost. I guessed that number high. In our fleet I KNOW of only 3 ships that were lost but upped it to 10 to account for what I dont know.
Fighting with a gang of 30 Gallentes should guarantee AT LEAST like 5 losses per engagement. We walked away from most all the ops without losing a ship.
So yeah, we had numbers, but we were efficient too. |

You're wrong, basically. Blobbing is all about numbers. Its about generating lag to negate pilot skill.
We could bring 10 polyrigged nanohacs to a fight, with highly skilled pilots who know how to handle their ships, with expensive implants etc. But what use is that when there is a long delay activating your MWD or you cannot move around to manage your transversal, or don't even load the grid before you die.
If a dozen skilled pilots turn up, in nice ships, thats not a 'blob' by any reasonable definition of the word.

You surely can't believe that the only element of a blob is the lag it generates, and as such it's hardly a "reasonable definition." Regardless of lag, if you throw enough ISK/SP/pilots at a fight, you'll win it no matter how skilled your opposition might be. |
