At first, I was also pretty underwhelmed by the poor Gallente performance in the conflict reports. But then I realized that it was a rather clever move from CCP.
Now, when someone smack talks against Gallente and calls them "Surrender Monkeys" or something similiar, it doesn't break charakter immersion because it is no longer an OOC-insult or one derived from long-lost ties to a certain ethnicity from old Earth... |

Are you basing your assumptions about France's tendency to surrender on history? Because if you are, I'd like to point out that there's only one actual instance of that happening (1940). There are far more examples of France taking on equal or superior forces, often coming out victorious.
Also, the Gallente Federation =/= France. It's composed of three races, of which one has some ethnic affinities with the French (and Europe in general, since racially the French are pretty much the same as the Spanish, the Germans, the British etc). Are you saying that CCP is also suggesting that the Japanese (represented by the Jin Mei) and the ... whoever the Intaki represent are also cowards/prone to surrender? |

Crashing a mothership into a station and to my understanding not taking it down permanently is just bad business, already there you could see the Federation would be fighting an uphill battle with the brainrot apparent in their ranks. |

Might have something to do with the fact that Heth threatened to bomb billions of civilians, no?
This is funny, caldari lovers bashing the gallente over this while deliberately not looking at the Adolf in their midst. |

Edited by: Lem2J on 11/06/2008 12:05:33 Imagine this for a decision:
Press a major counter offensive, costing hundreds of thousands of lives trying to break the mine field and the Caldari fleet on entering Luminaire. Risk the bombing of your homeworld and the death of coutless billions.
The alternative, make a hard decision to cede control of one planet and save all of this distruction. The metal of a leader has been tested and he passed imo.
What happens now is a different chapter. |

I remember that a certain Revolutionary Army required help from the navy (primarily) of a certain Gallic race in order to achieve independence. And it cost this certain Gallic race very dearly to do so.
Hmmm . . . now if I can only remember who they were . . . .
Anyone? Anyone at all?? |

I knew we should have elected Senator Mentas Blaque some times ago. He would never give in to these vile critters!
Theres two things you can do with caged sick animals. You either toss it into someones backyard or you blast it to kingdom come! Now, since theres no point tossing the Caldari into the Amarrs backyard you better shoot them first! THEN you can sort out their mental problems later.

There's probably much more to this than meets the eye. Tibus Heth is a man who will stop at nothing, clearly the President did what was necessary to protect the Federation and it's people. Heth probably threatened to blow up Gallente prime if his demands were not met, but I guess that's what you can expect from a Caldari these days. The Malkalen incident seems more and more like another piece in the puzzle of a mad scheme by a vicious and brutal Dictator, who will stop at nothing to claim his goals..

I am puzzled why a Caldari Gallente war should start in that case.
I mean Caldari took the president and forced him to surrender. Why a war after that ? Caldari are already the victors.
Amarr Minmatar is another story. I can accept a war in that case. But why Amarr fight the Republic if they were innocent in that (at least on the surface) and Elders and Thukker are the aggressor ?
The whole backstory spin behind FW is totaly nonsensical ... |

It was a stalemate basically. While Fed Navy couldn't enter Luminaire, thus leaving it under the thumb of Caldari Navy. There was not any Caldari Navy left in their home systems, leaving them plain open for Federation Navy. |
