Edited by: Zev''Nar on 11/06/2008 17:02:28 I think if you replace HONOR points with LP Points this won't be the flamefest this is becoming.
People play the game for different reasons. On WDA ZuluPark said there will be Militia LP rewards only available to people who partake in FW. So yes, you could grind FW LP for various shiny toys.
Oh yeah, if this was just a Troll post, it worked!!

Edited by: Meteor Crash on 11/06/2008 17:54:35 You do get rewards. The reward comes in form of juicy loot your targets will be dropping if you do it correctly and find the right ones.
I wish killing people in WoW dropped their items, a la UO.

Yes but the OP made a WoW reference, hence, the flames are justified.
When I started playing Eve I figured out within the first ten minutes that nothing I might have learned from WoW applied in Eve. Even though that's beyond completely obvious some people have a hard time with the concept that Eve and WoW are both MMOs - and the similarities stop there.

eve:spending countless hours looking at a rock while gathering minerals wow: slashing away boars, and animals across the land
not much there ----
eve:join corp/alliance to protect territory and have your miners build ships for your alliance that you will never fly, due to high price on skillbooks.. wow: joing guild to enter raids and instances for purple gear
do i really want a second job? ---- eve: do countless missions to get blueprints. wow: enter BGs and fight to get honor points for gear.
hmmm...sounds like fun. ----
eve:sign up into warfare for controlled pvp missions and protect factions space to gain honorable graphic signias & read up on a new eve paperback!while you wait in gate for nubs. and recall to my friends how much fun that was. wow:enter arena pvp to get honor points for more lucrative armor and gear.
i know the answer to this... ---- ..... .. .

I really don't understand this mentality. If you want to play WoW, Blizzard will always take your money. Go pay $15 and play the game you want to play. The world has nothing to gain from having both WoW and "WoW in Space."
EVE will be EVE. WoW will be WoW. Play whichever one you like better (which seems to be WoW, at this point.) Don't try to turn EVE into WoW for whatever reason. We don't care which game you play.
The rest of us will continue paying and playing EVE Online, the game we signed up for.

So your point is WoW is much more *fun* game? It is. Some time ago they removed diminishing returns on honor gain because player kills became meaningless in their PvP system.
Player kills.... meaningless. Let that sink in.
And than you have EvE with no honor gain for killing players, yet... Let it sink some more.

PvP and PvP rewards had NO change in FW. FW is PvP just like low-sec/0.0, you do it for fun/loot/territory.
Nothing has changed. This is just a new portal to pew pew.

Most people don't honor tank combat ships, and if you have no Honor modules how do you expect to harvest honor from the battlefield? |

1. Go for targets which are worth killing (i.e. they drop good loot). 2. Try to ransom. 3. ??? 4. Reward!
Right, that's a different kind of PVP, it's not something that CCP implemented but a way players play the game, it was in the game before and to some known as piracy. But that's the way you get reward for PVP in EVE - besides having fun blowing up stuff of course. And if that isn't fun for you ... have you tried mining? |

I'm actually inclined to agree with the OP. Currently, FW (to me) is:
1. Enlist with militia. 2. Talk to Agent 3. ??? 4. Profit
As you've might have guessed, the "???" part is the FW missions itself, which generates a reward.
EvE is about profit, wether its through piracy, mining, PvP or mission running, and i think that the "???" part, should include FW PvP too, be it that they generate the same rewards as the FW missions, or be it another system, that gives profit depending on acomplishments (say battles participated in, victories, losses, shiftings in occupancy of a system/region.
