Me and some corpmates were doing Gallente Navy lvl 4 missions yesterday. We did 3 missions and got no Gallente Federation standing increase. What is going on?

Storyline missions increase faction standings. Regular missions increase your standings with the corp whom you are running them for.

So basically the fastest way to increase faction standing then is to do a whole bunch of quick lvl 1 or 2 missions and get storyline missions every 16th mission, right?

Or running Gallente Cosmos missions, each Cosmos gives you a Gallente standing increase .

lvl 3 combat and lvl 4 Currier gets you to story line. If you have a bunch that can quickly do lvl 4 combat then that might be slightly slower but more fun.

Two ways to get your Faction up run missions and do cosmos.
Missions only one person is going to get faction increase.
Cosmos you can do the easy cosmos missions in just a few hours.
Cosmos will give you about .5 faction increase by just doing the few easy ones. Don't bother doing them grouped it will just slow you down if a group of you are trying to get faction increase.
Cosmos
Look at the bottom of the page see the 3 Fedmarts those are the ones you can do just by handing in tags for. You will also want to do the 3 that are in same system and are level 1
these will be kill missions very easy. You should get some sort of reward from the 3 kill mission that send you to another agent do this mission and you will have gained little more then .5 faction.
