You could always do the 'to get free isk, hold CTRL and type 'QUAFE' in local.

Don't understand why people camp in Jita, hope noone is mining or doing missions there.
Jita gains a lot of importance with Faction Warfare, since it's only few jumps from the combat zone (4 Jumps to Tama if i remember well), which makes it fast and easy to get a new/diffrent ship.
For example I wanted to get into a battelships today, as we had a nice melitia gang going. Few jumps to Jita and i got everything i need at the Iv-4 station, the complete fitting, rigs, the right ammo and everything at decent prices.
Without Jita it would take an hour or more of jumping through the systems and getting the stuff together. Thats why i like Jita, and tbh i don't see there that much lag anymore (compared to a year ago), i don't go there on sunday evenings though.

Right because everyone who signs up for FW is a Empire carebear who has never been to Null. It is ridiculous to think that FW is full of alts of real pvpers.

We had a chance to solve the Jita problem but ....
There was a damned downtime and patch on the server as CONCORD/DED were disabled.
I'm sure that many an EVE player would have loved to have been able to log on and solve your problem but we couldn't 
Apart from that, just don't go there when you CAN log on

Why would CCP close down a major hub, hmm? And just for your benefit, am I right? They haven't done it before, but since you asked, that makes it important, right?
The very idea of shutting down a system to cease traffic is counter intuitive. You shut it down, and everyone is gone, right? What do you think happens when it gets turned back on (as if they could shut down one node at a time...)? I'll tell you since you seem to have the insight of a stone. Everyone and their mother piles in because no one's there.
Jita is a central hub. Meaning the location in itself is one of the main reasons it is so popular.
Jita has been lag-central for years. It's gotten better. But since morons, like yourself, can't seem to get away from the shiny 10% markdown/up, Jita becomes hell. It has been that way for an extremely long time and will be that way for a while longer.
So... let me make this all really simple for you to understand:

Some years back CCP nerfed the major trade hub, Yulai.
They did this to combat lag.
Jita immediately became the major trade hub for the galaxy.
CCP probably realized that they could nerf the hub once a month and a new one would form. They left bad enough alone.
Humans create trade hubs. London, New York, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Shanghai...........
It's what we do in game and out of game.
So sorry, it's genetic. No cure is possible.

Jita does what i want from it well... if i need to assemble a ship for relatively cheap and i don't want to jump around for the parts i can enter Jita, assemble one, and be on my way out...
Sure it's sluggish but im not going to be doing anything out of station there anyways.
Also visit the place like once in 3 months so maybe im not your target audience....

…and if it's really too slow for you to do it this way, the other hubs offer the same capability at a snappier speed, at the price of having slightly fewer officer and faction bits'n'bobs on sale at the station in question.

EITHER close the system or slow down the people or boot undocked griefers but JITA IS for some dumb people the KING trade hub and has ALOT of the best prices for POS fuel etc.

People that go to Jita and complain about it are idiots.
1) there's no REAL reason to go there in the first place, you can often get things cheaper in other trade hubs, and there's always people willing to run courier contracts for stuff all isk.
2) so it can get a little laggy at times, what do you expect with so many people in one system?
3) don't complain until you've lost multiple ships without even loading grid in a fleet battle. That actually costs you something, yet you see a lot less whines about fleet lag than you do about Jita.
4) contract me all your stuff and just quit. Seriously, it's a win/win situation |
