Edited by: Brian54 on 11/06/2008 23:09:04 Hi,
I just killed a bunch of bad guys but I don't know what my rewards are exactly. Can anyone shed some light on what the rewards for FW are, for the masses?
PS. only hard for me, ez for benni only :( |

Oddly enough, you can single handedly camp the entire caldari navy in their home station, kill hundreds of them, and you will still have noob rank.
You only get ranks with standings and AFAIK you only get standings for doing MISSIONS.
Its pretty broken. IE: Q- "How do I get to be an ELITE SPACE MARSHAL IN THE FIGHT AGAINST THE MINMATARS!!?" A- "You run missions."
Seriously you should gain ranks according to number of FW kills confirmed, and for missions, both. |

I agree with this, maybe making it 40 loyalty points for a battleship kill spread between the participants, and a standing increase. And 40 loyalty points for finishing a lvl 4 faction mission. That way, the solo battleship killer would earn the most, while the solo missioner would earn more than a blob of battleships killing stray battleships. |

You can get standing increases for securing the exploration sites in contested systems. |

So all you get is LP from doing the missions which have a much higher risk factor than regular missions? -

All faction navy ships drop loot and -- more importantly -- tags. The tags are quite valuable, and can be sold for fairly significant amounts.

The main purpose of FW missions (and everything else in FW) is winning victory points for your faction in a system so you can take it over and it becomes occupied by the faction you're fighting for. If you're in it for the ISK just do normal missions.

From a militia agent in a station of the militia corporation. You need to be in the militia as well as having the right standings to get the agent to talk to you. When you've travelled to your mission system (deep into enemy space usually) and warp to the mission location a beacon will appear where anyone can warp to. It's not at all like normal missions.

NOPE
It pays little to nothing at all... the expectation is that you survive and pick up the loot of people who die in the mission area.

Who's idea was this? You don't even get paid well for doing lvl 4s while at war with half the empire corps and near pirates, while carebears do lvl4s in high sec risk free for more isk? |

PvP has always been a negative sum endeavor in this game unless you are really good at it and collect more loot from kills than what you lose when you die. |

Lmao thats what i tell everyone when they ask about the patch.
Uh getting rewards for killing warring ships would be awesome, but far to easy to exploit. It's another one of those "cool" things that cant be done be cause someone will farm it, unfortunately.

OR, they could just make it so that the reward for killing the ship is such that farming it would be pointless, for example, a 50 mill battleship kill only giving out rewards worth 10 million ISK if you convert the reward into ISK (which if it's LP, would be very hard to do). ------

That is sad. you should get nothing for missions and points for taking part in a kill, getting the final blow, and doing the most damage. And some bonus points if you Jam/Web/Scram the fool. If missioning is how you rank then I'm going to have the noob rank forever.

not missions you have to take control points.
Also they are going to release rewards for rank soon

it is, you have to go to PvP sites to gain ranks.
and the missions you run you have to go 12 jumps into enemy space, and the once you get to the mission the site is flagged on the overview meaning to complete the mission you HAVE TO PvP.

don't worry CCP said it will auto balanced based on time which mean they will pay more or something.. I think the devs are full of bs on this note and that they should set the rewards to how long it should take.

CCP has a long history of pre-nerfing new additions to the game and boosting them up as time goes by. This prevents the "exploit early, exploit often" crowd from ruining things from the get-go and ruining the game.

Level 5 LP rewards jumping from about 16k to 40-60k is a good indication of that

Edited by: Railin wei on 12/06/2008 05:11:44 MMO players are the weirdest gamers ever, you pvp and then ask "hey where is my reward?" your reward is victory and the spoils it brings not stupid points and ranks.
If you want reward for pvp go play wizards and pixies for honour points in wow. |

QFT, couldn't have said it better myself.
As (mission) rewards you get: player loot, navy loot, isk reward, standings gain, solo/fleet PVP experience(!), killmails, preferably a fight to remember and last, but not least, knowing you pushed the war towards victory, even if only a bit.
Points ? You mean like honor ?
Well firstly, I would get an alt to join the enemy militia and farm his 100% payback from insurance cruiser to get lots of said "points". Can you say 'exploit' ?
Also it would be too much like the game we don't mention. . |

To make that work insurance should be removed, seeing how a empty battleship ship, fully insured, will cost a few millions.
But removing insurance would stop a lot of PvP as people like to do it only if it is subsidized by CCP.
