What do people speculate this means for the game? How will this effect the market?

It's nice "in-the-heat-of-the-moment" zydrine speculation bubble. But there is no official ground behind it meaning you can buy overpriced amounts of minerals, and prices will drop again tomorrow, until summer expansion |

Shame inside info is being leaked like this though, especially if it's by a CSM who are not allowed to profit from insider info...or even say anything to anyone about any changes like this. If insider info was released it should def be looked in to...because what OTHER info are they privy to that will completely change the market. |

I'm not sure, the data dump said it was just the drones getting the no alloys treatment, so if anything else dropped them, it probably still will.
Anyway, i'm laughing at all of this, because either people are encouraging the situation for profit, or trying to calm people down, which is having the effect of talking to a brick wall, for the most part. If CCP implement the changes for Inferno, everything should be OK and the market will stabilize itself, even if ships and mods are slightly expensive than they are now. The real problems will arise if CCP say they're not going ahead with this, at which point people suddenly have massive stocks of zydrine worth the old price. This would cause panic selling on a massive scale as people try to offload their supplies while the price is high, and some poor sod(s) are not going to sell it in time and end up with a smaller wallet. That's..... pretty much the worst that could happen, other than these inflated prices sticking around and driving up the cost of everything that uses zydrine. It's not any kind of market doomsday, just rampant speculation causing inflation. (hey, that's kinda catchy ) Also, unless i'm reading that data dump wrong, the Trauma name for kinetic missiles is being dropped in favor of Scourge, which is awesome and deserving of more attention IMO. |

Actually, you are just making yourself look foolish.
The drones getting bounties and removal of compounds is the whole reason for this discussion in the first place.
http://go-dl1.eve-files.com/media/corp/batolemaeus/mineralcompo.png
No-one knows for sure (unless you are in BoB) that these changes are going to happen but everyone knows that Drone Compounds seriously nerf mining and it is something that CCP need to fix.
I know first hand since I lived in a -1 system mining Arknor/Bistot for a couple of years (ASCN) before moving to the drone regions for and spent another couple of years there (IRC/Ethereal Dawn).

Drone crap being the biggest minerals provider is bad, so CCP after many players rage finally will take those away, add some bots kicking. Now you have a clear lack of minerals for whatever, even a simple shuttle, and you don't have enough miners because: - they sold their mining char on toons bazaar - bot guy got it and just got kicked - new players do'nt have enough skills to efficiently mine in low/null - older players got tired of being ganked and are waiting for revenge (like me)
So those crawling on gazillions of isk have better time on buying all low ores/minerals they can right now even at 5 isk/unit before they hit prices you could never imagine it's even possible
This will have a major impact on each and every item in game, from shuttles to T1 ammo and let's not even talk about the uber Titan alt freshly acquired with incursion isk.
I told you guys this already about one month ago or +, we're getting closer and it's not ready to stop as long as bots get kicked and as long as players re start having fun mining, decent isk for this boring activity, and for some time now to prepare payback. I guess the impact of lack of minerals in game has a much bigger impact on big alliances than it has on miners AFK in high sec while doing other stuff with main char, right?

with recent changes to titan mechanics the demand side will see a huge(!) nerf. People who compare the prices with the prices from wayback fail to take into account the new ships like the rorqual and orca, which make mining so much easier.
Furthermore the expenses for Ships are far more t2 oriented these days (which dont need so much minerals) or faction/officer (for highsec mission runners)
add to that the possibility of 0.0 mining crystalls with twice the yield and you see zydrine tanking to a new low. |

The problem is that if CCP put bounties on Drones and doesnt change the mining volume of Hulks... we will see a skyrocket price inflation on almost everything cause the demand will be much bigger than the offer..., of course this will affect zydrine...
The good thing is if they raise the mining volume of ORE ships we will see a nice manipulation in Hulkaggeddons... |

I've been following Megacyte ever since this drone poo thing came about and it creeps 50 ISK or so a week. I don't think it ever fell below 2200 so it was much harder to contaminate the market unless you were prepared to inject alot of ISK. Assuming that factor doesn't change, I use that mineral as my thermostat for drone poo rumors. Anything happening to Zydrine is just market play. |

Surely if CCP's aim is to get people back mining in 0.0 again, the zydrine prices will have to rise relative to everything else in the game to make it worth it.
So whatever balancing that is necessary to make this occur will happen... |

With the Rorqual, the low price of the Hulk compared to 2006, the minerals anomalies and the masses of miners in 0.0, I guess the zyrine price will rise over 1000, but not over 2000 in mid term. It's actually safer to mine in 0.0 than in high sec now. I predict a huge press on the mineral market in the future too. |

Well, you can make a safe assumption: The ISK/hr from mining ABCs in null-sec will need to approach the ISK/hr from ratting or running anoms. Assume that you'll have good Orca/Rorqual support and that each Hulk will pull 150k m3 of ore per hour.
As a rough guess, that means a target income of around 90M ISK/hr per hulk pilot. Above that and it would be too lucrative, below that and people will do other things instead. That means the average ore value needs to be 600 ISK/m3 or so, which might mean Ark at 700, Croc at 500 and Bist at 600.
Today's prices for ABCs are: 237 / 267 / 344, with mineral prices of Trit 4.64 Pye 5.32 Mex 55.14 Iso 73.94 Nocx 573 Zyd 1145 Mega 2731 Morph 4994.
Both Zyd and Mega would have to go up in price by about 75-80% in order to push the ABCs into the 500-700 ISK/m3 range. I can see that happening for Zydrine, but I don't see Megacyte going up that much.
However, if CCP was smart - they'd simply add more minerals to the ABCs (such as boosting the amount of Nocx/Zyd/Mega in those ores and adding a touch of Mexallon). And lower the m3/unit of Spod by a lot (16 m3 -> 8 m3). Which would accomplish the goal of making the ABCs more valuable in relation to the hi-sec ores as well as offsetting some of the supply issues with the removal of drone poo.

Here are you wrong. Many poeple don't make more than 25million per tick in anomalies and they have to pay taxes. So 40m-60m per hour is a good profit from running anomalies. Multiaccount mining is always an option, even now.

Each hulk pilot can pilot several hulk alts and there's lower capital requirements than for ratting/anomaly running at that level. I imagine that the actual price won't be much different than it currently is for Ark (350 isk/m3 or about 40-45 mil/hr for really good miners who can mine 1800-2000 m3/min). We'd just see Bistot and Crokite come closer to matching it. That means a substantial rise in current zydrine prices along with the possibility of a drop in megacyte
I decided to run a calculation on the assumption that bistot and crokite get as close to ark in isk/m3 as possible. I assume also that nocxium prices don't change much, though one would expect a slight drop (so I decided to price nocxium at the good old round number of 500 isk). As a result, I get the following
At 350 isk/m3 (current levels), I get 1860 zyd and 2430 mega At 500 isk/m3 (roughly 54-60 mil/hr), I get 2760 zyd and 3420 mega At 650 isk/m3 (roughly 70-78 mil/hr), I get 3670 zyd and 4410 mega
Arkanor and crokite end up being equal (at the given isk/m3) while bistot is a few percent less (for example 335 isk/m3 at the first level). If I try to get all three to line up by allowing nocxium to vary as well, then I get a negative value for nocxium. It isn't possible for all three ores to be the same value, I think, unless one does some crazy things with the price of trit and pye
My feeling is that even this is in some error due to the overproduction of zydrine in these ores. Crokite and bistot produce a lot of zydrine and I gather they're a little more prevalent than arkanor. Arkanor also produces significant zydrine (half as much as megacyte). So I don't see these other ores actually achieving parity with arkanor except for short market fluctuations where zydrine spikes in price. So my best guess is that zydrine will be somewhat lower, say zydrine and megacyte around 1600 and 2550 respectively. |

While I agree with many of the points put forward by the esteemed peanut gallery, specifically:
a) Drone alloys getting nerfed, and b) the recent culling of botters,
helping a steady rise in high end minerals prices, there is one factor that has been missed.
c) the soul-sucking, mindless boredom that is the epitome of mining.
"Can't Be Arsed" will rule the day, and prices will rise -- because really, we've all got better things to do than mine.

(ponders Tasko's numbers) I guess it depends on whether you think mining is boring (some people enjoy it, especially as a social event). That view on mining will influence the ISK/hr number at which point you'll be tempted to mine rather then rat / anom / incursion
Today Trit 4.58 Pye 5.31 Mex 54.96 Iso 73.74 Nocx 567 Zyd 1173 Mega 2733 Morph 498
Guesses Trit 5.00 Pye 6.00 Mex 60 Iso 100 Nocx 500 Zyd 2200 Mega 3600 Morph 650 Veld 150 Scor 133 Pyro 173 Plag 170 Omb 110 Kern 181 Croc 406 Bist 426 Ark 48
I don't see Nocx going much higher then 500-ish, because when it does, Kernite gets immensely profitable compared to the other hi-sec ores (especially if Isogen also goes up). Omber still ends up as the laggard because it's outclassed by Kernite for Isogen production
I don't see Tritanium much above 5.00, because then Veldspar gets crazy, and that's too easy to mine in hi-sec in bulk
I am leaning more towards Zyd could hit 2200-2800, and possibly Megacyte rising to 3600-4000
Guesses Trit 5.00 Pye 6.50 Mex 65 Iso 100 Nocx 520 Zyd 2800 Mega 4000 Morph 750 Veld 150 Scor 137 Pyro 181 Plag 182 Omb 110 Kern 189 Croc 508 Bist 511 Ark 56
If any of the hi-sec ores run away from the others, the miners do move to favor that ore, which drags it back down to within 20% of its other hi-sec cousins. I don't think it's farfetched to see Pyrox/Plag/Kern at the top of the "hi-sec" ore pile, with Veld/Scor/Omb bringing up the rear
If CCP does remove the drone poo (or better, trim it back in stages), then the ABCs will definitely bring back a lot of their former glory. Without having to add more minerals to the ABCs (although I still think at least some Mex should be added)
Now we just need to get CCP to change Spod to only have a size of 8 or 10 m3/u, which would position it closer between Dark O and Croc in terms of ISK/m3. Maybe even lower the m3 size of Dark O down to 7 instead of 8. |

At three hulks mining crokite in deep blue with 1800 m3/min apiece, that becomes 55 mil/hr per alt and 165 mil/hour in total. Someone will drop vanguards and anomalies for 65% more cash per hour. Even two mining alts gives slightly better isk/hour than shooting reds. High sec has modest income, but it adds up. 20 mil/hour per alt for kernite at those prices (and mining volume) and you can run a lot of alts. Roughly 15 hours would pay for most of the capital costs of the ships and 25 hours per month would pay for the alts themselves. Anything past that is gravy.

That's what I am saying though, Zydrine supply is not low. It has never been low. The amount of Zydrine needed for the percentages used in productions could be met in reproc. Even if they do remove drone poo, they nerfed NOS years ago and smartbombs were never any good. Drop loots on off meta emissions transfer loot, NOS type mods and smartbombs alone will carry Zydrine demand. People might have stopped looting it because of Drone poo markets but once drone poo is gone, people will start running loot reproc sales again. We have never been in a shortage of Zydrine in EVE. |

Get used to it kiddies... Zydrine... and Nox (again, major source is drone alloys)... are about to rise steadily for a good, long run.

It's worth noting that Jita alone chews through more than that much every few days even if every casual ratter/missioner works as hard as you do and is as numerous as you claim (and aren't doing incursions instead). And a lot of null sec zydrine gets turned directly into supercaps and such, as the moon goo princess indicated. Keep in mind that the drone regions have considerably more industrialization than the rest of null sec.
Back in early 2009, CCP Chronotis (see comment #46 page 2) gave zydrine production at 43% mining, 18% loot, and 40% drone. Since then, loot and drone poo have both been changed (loot and drone drops of zydrine have been reduced and the extremely productive noctis introduced).

(Sorry about the raw link, normal linking didn't work.)
To be blunt, I think things haven't changed that much. If zydrine gets eliminated altogether from drone drops, then there will be a considerable reduction in the supply of zydrine no matter what you and other "casual" ratters/missioners do to increase your zydrine production (short of actually mining the stuff that is, heh).

The best part of reproc assisted mining for T1 minerals is, you can't really bot the process. CCP might want to think about reversing the level 4 mission loot nerf though.

And that's the problem here. The loot nerf hasn't been reversed. Hence, mission loot and all that other stuff isn't the flood of zydrine that you think it is.

^^ This.
If anything, don't be too surprised to see the loot drops (in missions) gradually reduced a few more "notches"... and that won't just affect Zydrine, either.
Indeed, mission loot should only be a source of two (2) things: Named T1 mods and salvage for the "rigs" industry -- but not a minerals "industry" unto itself.
Afterall -- CCP wants to encourage mining, so squeezing off the non-asteroid sources of minerals is not only necessary but logical.
So, go home tonight and make love to your darling Zydrine... fondle it... cherish it... make it ... your PRECIOUS.

The problem is not that drone loot is a source of minerals, the problem is that it is too big a percentage as a source of minerals, which has depressed mineral values too much and marginalized mining as a career choice. (The same applies to module drops from regular rats.) Supplemental sources of materials serve as a useful checks-and-balances, as long as they don't drown out the primary source.
What CCP could also do is change reprocessing to rely more heavily on the Scrapmetal Processing skill rather then making it so easy to get 99.5% of your minerals back with just Refine V and Refine Eff V. Maybe the reprocessing skill needs to be nerfed slightly so that you you need Refine V + Refine Eff V + Scrapmetal Processing IV in order to get 100% at a 50% refinery. Which would probably push down the amount you get back by 5-10% across the board. |

I would say 45% rather than 40% as the minimum is 35% but it could work. The real issue though is increased mineral costs increase the cost of everything made from those minerals causing significant inflation in the game economy. However as the bounties would be unaffected it would serve to level the field somewhat making mining a more appealing profession. |

Based on what exactly? Frankly I find those figures ridiculously optimistic. Im expecting short term prices to hit 2500-2700 with peaks @ 3000/unit.
By inferno we should see prices settingly around the 2300-2500.unit sell mark.
I base this off pre- drone region experience of prices, the advent of new tech in mining and the sheer volume of stockpiled Zydrine. I lived out in drone poop land for a couple of years so im well aware of the volume that was produced by gun mining out there. It was large, probably larger then most people realise or acknowledge here.
But 5k/u sounds awefully optimistic.

Pre-drone regions zydrine sat comfortably at 3,200-3,400 for a long time. It only really peaked to 5k+ when everyone and their grandmothers was building dreads.
With all the speculators I can see it peak 4k, but then again people have been stock piling zydrine for a very long time. Even way before any of the rumors started flying around. So I can see that will help feed the market for a long time and create a nice downward force on the price. In maybe a year we could see all the stock dry up and the supply/demand really balancing.
But yeah 5k-8k unlikely, 4k range I could see, over 2,500 no doubt. |

Except that, unlike before Drone Regions came into the game, many of those players are now flying supercaps and toss cap ships away in fights with nary a thought.
And you can bet the major alliances will stockpile like crazy, without releasing "stuff" to the Market, so they can keep that SCap production running long after the Drone Alloys are nerfed.
Not that the last QEN made a big deal about SCap proliferation or anything.

Not that hard to make an educated guess.
If zydrine costed 3,200-3,400 before drone regions, then dropped to 740 after drone regions, its very very likely it will end up there after the removal of drone changes.

There are other factors though, such as supercap proliferation as Mookie mentioned. Insurance nerfs also mean that minerals are not nearly as well basketed. Mission loot has been messed with since then. Probably other factors that I'm forgetting or overlooking.
"it was 3200-3400 before the drone regions" is certainly a starting point, but all of these factors add up to make it only a very rough one, IMO. |

Agreed, we can also have some fun with it and list the factors and which way they're expected to affect the price. Something like this:
Removal of drone compounds: Up Speculators: Up Insurance: Down Proliferation of supercaps: Up (Larger demand for zydrine/mins) Mission loot changes: +/- (haven't done research of the overall affect here on zyd)
All I could think of atm..

Ah...I understand now.
You're angry because you can't understand how I amassed so much over time. As a result you think I"m lying.
I don't mind. If zydrine goes to nearly 4k, I make around 1.2 trillion profit. If it goes to say 5k, I make 1.5tn.
I'm predicting 13k from past experience of price changes fluxuating wildly over 10 fold (robotics, nocx as examples) when the game mechanics are changed.
I suspect you secretly hope I"m right. Regardless if I'm right or wrong, every time zyd goes up 1 isk, I make a significant amount of money. But even at your naysayers (they remind me of apple-haters), 4k would net me a healthy profit, but I'm looking for obscene profits...for me and of course for yourself as well. People are always much more pleasant and happy when they get superrich. I hope you make a bankload of money to the point you don't care about what you will do in eve.
For myself, I'm going to plex my 5 accounts for 5 years (300 plex in all) and just see what CCP holds in store. Last time I plexed was for 2 years. It's nice not worrying about bills or accounts about to go under.

My past experience is to put an amount for a fixed price (say 10M units) and then fill buy orders in full upto a certain price that you're willing to sell. After that, you just let your sell order that's at a fixed price sit until it's sold or your sell later.
I don't usually dump 100M of minerals on order because there's always someone who is willing to go 0.01 isk cheaper and that's just annoying. I know my lowest accetable price and i"ll just do immeidate sales until it's fulfilled.
But that amount of zydrine will probably take a few weeks to sell. Mostly because I"m working and I don't have all day to spend on eve and I'm just not in a rush to cash in. I have plenty of liquidity and income in eve that I don't really need to play, but the challenge of making a trillion isk is what I find more challenging to me now rather than flying a spaceship in game with some skill at lvl 5 to do something 2 seconds faster or something else like that.

For someone who claims to have invested a third of a trillion into zyd, you sure are an idiot about how the market works. You sound angry. You also seemto keep reiterating the word 'claim'. I guess that's as good a coping mechanism as any. Sammy Idiocy in others sometimes has that effect on me. And yes, claim. Just as I claim to have a mere 35 million units of zyd, you claim to have 340 billion worth. Without proof, that's all it is. Sam
Actually, no, you still don't understand.
I already said that I hope you're right, and that I have my own admittedly tiny (compared to what you claim, anyway) stack. And I perfectly well understand how you've amassed so much over time - you trade other things and you roll a portion of that profit into the zyd over the course of several months or a few years. You've had time, after all - it's been under 1000/unit for over a year, under 1500/unit for far longer. And I've already made what many would consider to be a bankload of money to the point where I don't care about what I do in eve.
I still think 13k is nuts, especially if you think "13k sustained long enough to actually sell at" rather than "yeah maybe the market touches 13k during a frenzy before getting warred down under the weight of a thousand .01s". |

13000K?! What a load of complete rubbish.
I think you are forgetting the enormous buffering effect that refining has on mineral prices.
If zydrine is sells for 13000K, people will refine anything containing Zydrine and just sell it, replenishing stocks.
Here are some sample breakeven prices for refining with zydrine at todays prices and at 13000 with the other minerals roughly at todays prices:
Abaddon
Current refine breakeven: 192279511.52 Refine breakeven with Zydrine @ 13000: 285636511.52
Difference: up 93.3 million
Maelstrom
Current refine breakeven: 158332285.26 Refine breakeven with Zydrine @ 13000: 271802785.26
Difference: up 113.5 million
Raven up 81 million Megathron up 78.5 million Apocalypse up 82.4 million
all battleships would have to go up by at least 40 million.
Moving on to cruisers:
Maller up from 9 to 15.5 million Thorax up from 8 to 13.8 million Rupture up from 7 to 12.2 million
In the short term, yes, prices will go up.
Then they will start to get buffered by refining.
Then CCP will introduce Tech 2 mining crystals that only work in 0.0 space, and people will go back to mining in 0.0. Stock will flow, prices will stabilize.
Block is the one to trust on the prices. |

If Zydrine was selling at 13000, and you can buy an Abbadon for less than 285 million, you buy the Abbadon, refine it into its raw materials, then sell them for a profit.
This will supply the zydrine market and drive prices down again.
The only way that zydrine could sell at 13000 is if all battleships went up in price by at least 40 million, some by more. |

I'm new to both the market forums and the amusing sport of wildly guessing mineral prices 3-12 months into the future, so I may very well be missing something, but many of the projections in this thread seem amazingly ill considered.
Some have already mentioned several of the natural constraints on mineral prices such as reprocessing, speculator reserves and mining. It seems to me, however, that a reasonable upper bound on specific mineral prices can be easily found by considering mining alone. The reason for this is that there is no shortage of mining capacity, should the potential income surpass other methods of earning isk. Mining is also the constraint that's easiest to analyze quantitatively.
For instance, as a trivial example, let us consider a perfectly skilled Hulk. To be conservative, I'll ignore gang bonuses and say that a reasonable yield per hour is roughly 110,000 m^3 of ore (a figure easily checked by referencing any mining guide). At current Jita buy order prices, mining Arkonor would yield 46.3M isk/hr/Hulk. Very respectable, but comparable to high-end anomaly income, which also isn't burdened with the logistical annoyances, refining taxes and other irritations associated with mining, not to mention being slightly less suicide-inducing.
Suppose, however, that Zydrine goes to 3000 isk/pu, far from the high-end estimates posted in this thread. At this point, mining Crokite gets you 60M isk per hour per Hulk, and mining operations are extremely easy to scale to multiple characters, not to mention being probably the most botted activity in all of EVE. Fixing Zydrine at 13,000 isk/pu, as was suggested in the previous page, yields an utterly hilarious 242M isk/hour/Hulk, a figure no one should be able to take seriously in today's EVE. And in deriving these estimates, I've assumed that every other mineral would retain today's prices, whereas in reality most other minerals would rise as well, some very substantially, inflating miner (and miner bot) income even further. And that's not even mentioning CCP's plans (as discussed in the recent interview) to NERF anomaly/incursion income by roughly 10%, further increasing the incentive to mine the crap out of asteroids, even at today's prices I would guess.
It seems clear to me that, unless you expect CCP to seriously nerf mining (seems implausible) or some comparably unrealistic changes to the game, there is no way mineral prices can realistically keep some of the values suggested in this thread, even from a simplistic miner-centric analysis. Any consideration of reprocessing, etc., would only impose further constraints.
So tell me, am I missing something huge? Or is this really just a thread for speculators' daydreaming? |

"You could refine battleships for zyd" is a bad example of why zyd wouldn't stay at 13k for long because people would do just that in short order.
A better argument against Crokite at 13k is that if Crokite were at 13k it would be worth somewhere north of 200m/hr to mine. |

I'd say you're correct. The one thing we don't know is if all that mining capcity can be turned to mining minerals. As yet we do not know if "ring mining" will be able to pull both base minerals and moon minerals. It is my hope CCP does not do that, although having both types in the same belt might be ok.
If it turns out that both types of minerals can't be mined at the same time, then the mining capacity will be spread over a broader range of materials. This would have some upward pressure on those prices. Also, if some POS changes down the road make more options available, this could also have a draw on mining capacity with regards to ICE, but those details are so far off it is hard to judge one way or the other.
There will still be the competitor for time, shooting rats, but rat murder and ISK production will have more competition, and that is a good thing. |

Whichever way they do it, I think it's reasonably clear that they don't intend to drastically nerf 0.0/WH/anom mining while they're at it. Even if they do, as some have suggested, decrease the availability of ABC (in the case of zydrine, it's the C that matters most) ores, the prices discussed in this thread would provide ample opportunity to purchase and sustain industrial upgrades in many systems. I think it is beyond reasonable doubt that a substantial (10%+) premium over high-end anomaly income would easily supply the mining capacity needed to satisfy reasonably expected demand in the medium term.
Considering this, it seems to me that zydrine around 2,500 isk per unit is probably around the highest sustainable point even in optimistic scenarios (though speculation does, of course, have the potential to drive prices up far beyond that for short periods of time). One must also keep in mind that nocxium, morphite (a seperate issue entirely) and other minerals are also likely to rise in price and while a detailed analysis of the demand side of things is beyond the scope of this post, I feel people in this forum have a tendency to severely overestimate the extent of the rise of mineral prices that undoubtedly awaits us with the impending removal of bounties from rats in the drone regions.
None of this is really meant to rain on the parade of speculators, I'm sure short-term investment opportunities will continue to be plentiful as we await the next expansion. We lack a lot of the hard production numbers to get beyond general guesses, much of the quantitative facts thrown around are guesses them selves. Also, it is Eve, so there is always some self serving bias in just about any estimation. |

Gun mining is more efficient than mining laser mining. Also players are willing to gunmine that are not willing to exhumer mine, and may not have the appropriate skills or alts to be able to transition to this anyway. Realistically efficiency wise will require there be rorquals and hulk packs dotted all over the drone regions come the bounty change, and many of the residents who currently generate minerals may not want to do that or be able to do that.
Also mining will become a mandatory hard requirement for ships, and because of the basket and access requirements, that equates to an actual person doing a couple of hours of mining for every battlecruiser loss. ie the current highsec daily trade in battlecruisers alone is probably worth 10,000 man hours in mining daily under this new plan. The basket requirements for all of this stuff will drag the lowends along with the highends.
Prices will simply rise until they hurt consumption.

Until now, anomalies giving more ISK than mining. When you are a miner in 0.0 you have to provide:

So the prices for minerals will be rising. The latter will be reduced, which puts a bit of a cap on the mineral prices from nullsec. Furthermore, not all nullsec miners use hauling chars, or defensive characters. Usually mining corps are embedded within pvp alliances, and there are always ample amounts of pvp'ers online to go after baddies when they show up.
As mineral prices rise, mining players and corporations will start getting some much delayed respect from the pvp'ers who will need to rely on their cheap minerals, since a PLEX won't buy as much as it used to.
Also with the increasing profitability of minerals, you'll see more corps/alliances battling over wormhole space as well, since every WH provides a nigh daily grav site with ABC ore, and often connections to highsec. This makes getting the ore to highsec easy and safer than getting it there from nullsec, and thus makes WHs a much desired asset in the months to come. You'll see a lot of mining in C1s and C2s.
You're going to be seeing a lot more mining corporations in all parts of EVE, and most noticeably in nullsec, doing more than just supplying their own alliance's goods, but also shipping more of it off to highsec. If I were you, I'd be investing in Hulks, Orcas, and Rorquals - Not Zydrine. |

If I had a dime for every time someone spit out something totally untrue about mining...
Factually speaking, Wormholes are a source of ABC, however they are not a reliable source. Ask anyone who's living and mining n a WH, it's not all Mai Tai's and Yahtzee, I spent 6 months in a C3 and I went like 10 days without seeing a grav site spawn. You may counter with the fact that WH's have other opening with fresh sites possibly available.
This is true but while it's great for Mag, Ladar and Combat Sites, due to the WH mass limitations and m3 of Ore it's not as easy to mine and haul adjacent WH and risk having your mining resources trapped.

Zydrine atm is about right as well Nocxium has to stay above 950 for the intermediate ores to remain worth it, so working well
in highsec just about everyone i know can do lvl 4 missions in some capacity. depending on skills they make 20-40 mil isk/hr doing this. A boosted hulk needs ore in the 180 isk/m3 range to match this. ores are ranging from 105 - 220 ish, seems fine.
in summary I think all mineral prices are about right where they should be for the long term |
