i was in from beta 3 to live but left mainly because i was so damn ****ed that EvE wasnt able to load on my computer then and no one could answer why even though i had the top of the line computer of the day.
now i get back and enjoy myself and still kicks myself everyday for not sticking with it and being stubborn enough to fix whatever was the problems then. and 3weeks after i opened 2 accounts i get a 14 day "old beta ppl" invite. kinda sucked but hey! im enjoying it fully now except the part on the missile cruisers getting their nads cut off.

I got a free 14 day trial for being an x beta tester, although sadly I'll have to admit I never beta tested anything I could'nt get the client working, but the 14 day trial turned me into a subscriber so it was'nt all a loss :).

heh the cwipe masters...
I was Artuis Skah in beta, of AnSkah Inc lead by myself and Anarian. Anarian was shortly lost after beta and stopped emitting emergency rescue beacon intermissions as of about a year ago.

I was waiting for a thread like this so I could introduce myself.
I was a Beta-Tester, but the game was so horrible, that I couldn't imagine ever handing a penny over.So I left the beta when the time was up and forgot about the game.
Someone I know from the Homeworld : Cataclysm boards(Kayosoni) kept telling us about EVE for months, but I didn't bother, until I got offered a free trial and a download link for being a beta-tester.Then after the trial I made up my mind that the game was good enough to hand over dosh for, although i'm beginnining to question that after seeing the stuff they are doing with the patch.
Hopefully someone can talk sense into CCP. "Hobbes, she stepped into the Perimter Of Wisdom.Run!" |

I've been in one of the last beta phases. Didn't subscribed back then, because af memory leaks and other stuff, and I just couldn't really believe they would go live with that many bugs. (I think I still had serious market bugs 2 weeks before they actually went live, when I played longer than a few hours I only had mere slideshows to look at, and there weren't anyone else in system).
Well, now I have a better computer, so I can't tell if there are still mem leaks or not, but I can definitely play much longer than back then. I got the beta trial, and noticed that they obviously fixed the problems that kept me away back then.
Well, on the day the trial was over I thrived to get a gametimecode from a local provider (no CC, didn't want to do PayByCash). I had to wait 2 days for the code or so because they actually ran out of those. And you can tell I will stay around for a while now, building up my Corp to hopefully a well known one.

I made it into the last phase of Beta testing and enjoyed it for a while. I didn't continue when Eve went gold because of bugs but also it seemed that mining was the only thing to do (rather shortsighted in retrosepect).
A work colleague persuaded me to come back in December and take another look. Fortunately he is a PVP'er so I soon got that mining idea slapped outa my head. Now I'm having great fun

I helped beta test the game but actually became interested in EVE again a couple of months back only because I was looking for a mmporg and nothing of itnerested seemed to be around - I was sure to find EVE-I server numbers to be at low numbers since EVE on release had been lacking in content (and why many of us left), to find the server numbers at a record high.
So I went to investigate, only to find EVE very much like what we had wanted it to be like on release. Two months later and with much promise with Shiva, we have a game we had wanted... :) -----
