They're obviously always been there, but to me it looks like they are becoming a lot more prevalent. I also imagine they are a lot harder to detect. The speed and consistency some prices change in the market looks very much like it's been automated somewhere.
Question is what is being done about it? Time to-áCOMPLETELY REDESIGN THE U.I. FROM SCRATCH: - End the click fest & Multiple Window fest - Streamline and Simplify it-á - Improve scalability-á |

Judging from the name and attitude, might be even younger. Especially when it seems there is a need to be spoon fed everything rather than keeping informed or finding things out as suggested. I suppose used to too many ice creams from Mom.

So either you are saying,
A: Bots were here since '03 and due to the way commands are processed there is no way to ever really remove them.
B: They are actually scripts in the market and the whole 'player driven economy' is a big fat lie.
I'd entertain either possibility really as all I can do is speculate but with transitional populations even 20K low point to 50K high point it's pretty much impossible to control anything in EVE. I say that from my own point of view. I couldn't possibly, manually regulate a market and corner it, not for any length of time. It's a mechanical thing, not a shortcoming on my part so it isn't like there are people out there capable of doing something I can't for personal reasons. Rational restrictions simply prevent it.
Still, it's not that hard to stalemate a market in EVE that is notorious for the title 'Spreadsheets in space'. That is what you see overall. There are so many 3rd party apps that you can run to compliment EVE in terms of marketing that don't break EULA but automate efficiency and create what is now the norm for EVE markets.
Final conclusion for me anyway is, I don't play EVE using all the tools others have available. They aren't what you call cheating but they aren't CCP or EVE made so I'm always behind the curve. Knowing that all markets are stalemated, I don't feel I am missing out either though. |

There ain't no way on God's green earth...or New Eden for that matter, to have a semblence of a natural market as long as bots operate in EVE. Market bots? Oh Lord. Pretend not to understand this. As long as they exist, all player interaction with the market is nothing but busy work. You may as well be playing Whack-A-Mole...or Eternal Loop Tic Tac Toe.
That a Phd in economics took a good, strong look at the economy, and a few adjustments in insurance payouts and ore distribution (including crystal drops from drones, and the loot table for missions), was all that occured should tell you: A.) No wonder only a handful of economists foresaw the real world economic collapse. B.) The EVE market is but one more object of ridicule endorsed by CCP (who's so concerned about the quality of the game.)
If you really want to fix EVE, we stop paying for accounts en masse and leave the Icelandic brain trust wondering (over their beers) wtf just happened? It's obvious they either don't comprehend, or don't care. Not getting paid will certainly take care of the latter. However, there's no cure for stupid. Anyone with any sense has already left town. |

Bots are bad, now why those are used and who does so?
->those always tell you the mineral you mine is not free?
->those for who "kill npc's sucks"?
->those playing more than a pair of accounts?
The more I think about and the more I start thinking that those doing those bots and some of those using them/selling game stuff for RMT, must win real good tax free cash. If I was producer of my own game, i'd swimm across the pacific to buttkick some jerk playing with my kids welth. Well except if i'd play both sides of the penny but it's another story.

Grab another Nobel Prize professor, you shame us all with your genius and abstract thinking. Yeah. I was wondering about that. If the bots work on a certain margin then you can cut below that margin. However, those would be pretty damn slim if even a bot didn't want it so you wouldn't be winning.
Now the funny thing is when there's like 3 or 4 bots all 0.01isking one another, that leads to hilariously fast price drops. Take all the tech Build all the titans Drop all the POSes

That's a lot of windows popping up and down with that bot. I have a hard time believing it isn't time-lapsed to some extent though because I don't know about you guys but my market window/trade windows don't open that quickly, even when pressing the buttons. So, because of its methodical approach, I have no doubt it's a bot of some kind, but it seems like the recorder is trying to make it look faster than it is.
