CryRex	Posted - 2008.06.14 18:56:00 - [1] Hey guys, I'm still relatively new to Eve and I was just wondering how I should fit my new Omen (Amarr crusier). I'm going to use it for PvP and FW mostly, so any PvP fits would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance guys!

Jumping into a ship that you don't have proper skills to fly will end in disaster, especially in PvP. However, if you're partaking in massive faction warfare gate blobbing, go for it. Needs more cpu, I remember trying to fit an omen pre-revelations and it being impossible with 4 guns. Power grid is an issue as well, would be nice to fit a rep or 800mm plate with medium guns and all, but cpu is more of an immediate issue I think (in my above omen setup I couldn't even get in energized adaptives...) As for rax vs omen, as a die hard gankrax fan I'd go with a thorax every time, however the omen is quite a bit faster with a lot of extra range, 1v1 if you played your cards right in the omen you could at least get away from the thorax Since the op was asking about factional whatever, which I have been led to believe is some impressive blobbage at present, the omen would be a healthy damage dealing cruiser, a duramaller isn't going to do anything special in a blob. also, epic lulz Nostalgia \| Deadspace2 \| Deadspace

And please train for T2 stuff or fit some faction modules, the loot from your wreck was almost a waste of cargo space. Ok, but now some useful advice - do pvp in a gang. A lonely Omen dies quickly. If you're really interested in pvp, find a corp that does it well and learn from them. However, work on your skills first. The basics like engineering and electronics are often underestimated but they open up many fitting options; then go for t2 tank (mechanics skills) and t2 guns and don't forget drones. You might actually find it useful to spend some more time in hi sec, doing missions and earning money while improving your skills. That way you will keep your costly implants and have a reserve for getting your pvp ventures started.
