If you dont know what I'm talking about read the latest dev blog on new missle system.
kestrall will only be able to use light missles from now on
so no more 1200dmg insta indi skills , sucks to be a ganker i guess hehehe

I bet when those changes go live, about 100 accounts get canceled, 12 corps close down, and hundreds of character fall off the face of EVE.

I do approve of the getting rid of gate ganking Kestrel guys. But i like cruise missles in my kestrel. I use it for a cheap and easy ship if we go hunting or anything, cruise missles offer a little bit in the way of protection against gankers by allowing a frigate to do real damage also. But I suppose its worth it to be able to go around in high sec a little more safe now...

Well all I can say is, I am looking forward to flying my industrial again. It allways seemed strange to me you had a better chance of making it from A-B in 0.0 than from A-B in empire when flying a indie.

At least now it'll take a bit more skill dedication to become efficient with a frigate simply because you'll have to train up the turret (and associated) skills.

Im very happy to see the kestrel alt ganking come to an end, but im unhappy to see the cruisers getting hit also, I dont use battleships so I rely on my cruisers for running missions and npc hunting, I hope they rethink this patch a little before going to live.

what a kestrel can not do a caracal can .... and the loss of loosing a caracal with only 5 h50 is minimum.

It wont however 2 caracals will which makes it an expenditure of ~10mil to kill and indy in 1.0.
If the indy is ship and cargo scanned it will still be very profitable to gank and indy hauling high end mins or outfitted with beta and local expanders.
Alts just need a little more traning time and the indy gank team will now require 3 pilots instead of 2 to be succesful. ______________

Once again this seems the bs pilots are very happy about the new changes, and especially frig and to some extent cruiser pilots hate it (cruisers will get some changes for the better tho. Was stated in original post). As for the indy pilots, sure kestrel gankers can be a pain, but could be sorted with a more effective use of sec rating, or some love for the space tuckers. I allways wondered how a criminal, sometimes wanted, can sit right next to the sentries or police force ships without being noticed :P If they i.e added criminal flagging you would also have a chance at solving the ore thief and maybe non consentual war probs Simply removing something to fix a bug/exploit can sometimes be done with using what's allready in the game.
Thought long and hard about this and still hate the missile changes. Has a fair share of pros for the bs pilots, but does'nt outweigh what's happening to the frigs. Fast paced action seems dead, and i'm bound to train for a bs which flies as a hauler 8( I fly a Rifter and Rupture btw.

Wrong, I'm a cruiser pilot, got another acount that's a frigate pilot, both are absolutely loving these ( and the other planned ) changes to death. Only kestrel/breacher pilot hate the changes the rest of the frigate pilots will love this change cause it means turret frigates will actually have a use now. ~{When evil and strange get together anything is possible}~ A tool is only useless when you don't know how to use it. - ActiveX The grass is always greener on the other side. - JoCool |

Hmmmm, light only for Kestrel's? thats a bit daft seeing as how it's practicaly made for heavy's with the lock range. Unless Light missiles get a significant range increase then the Kestrel is being somewhat hamstrung. <goes to re-read the devblog more closely...> Nul.

Anyone who flys a missile firing frigate will not like these changes - thats obvious. But had u noticed that there were so few no-missile frigates being used - thats cos the missile firing frigates were so UBER at dealing damage.
This change is good imo (despite the fact that i will have to rethink my inq....) The point is it will level the playing field so that all types of weaponry are comparable and missile frigs will not be the only frigates used in fleet battles (accept possibly ew frigs that were being used..)

Yes. As for frig><frig, the changes are good but for ganging up to take down the prime trophy, a bs, the changes are ridiculous. So in your opinion good, not imo.

I really dont get it. People wine about getting cruise missiles removed from friggys. No CCP are doing that, theres lots wining about that.. bah
