Heya.
Just a quick suggestion for killmails. Currently good logistics pilots never appear on killboards, ever.
Let's change it and give them some credit at the same time:
Include repairing of people on killmails, with a negative number of damage dealt. So a sample killmail would look like this:
2008.06.11 10:27:00
Victim: Spy-Alt Corp: Deep Space Productions Alliance: NONE Faction: NONE Destroyed: Reaper System: 0-MNDY Security: 0.0 Damage Taken: 534223
Involved parties:
Name: Batolemaeus (laid the final blow) Security: 4.9 Corp: Free-Space-Ranger Alliance: Morsus Mihi Faction: NONE Ship: Helios Weapon: Hobgoblin II Damage Done: 534223
Name: Batolemaeus Junior Security: 1.2 Corp: Free-Space-Ranger Alliance: Morsus Mihi Faction: NONE Ship: Guardian Weapon: Large 'Solace' I Remote Bulwark Reconstruction Damage Done: -533842
Destroyed items:
Basic Miner Tritanium (Cargo) Civilian Gatling Autocannon
(That way i'd be top killer forever on the killboard. But that's a sacrifice i am willing to take )

Interesting idea. I wanted to keep it simple and easy to implement, and i think my idea is pretty easy to do. Of course, your idea is pretty complicated, but if it can be implement, i absolutely love it.
Logistics already only appear on killboards when they fail (and sadly on the wrong side), with the change they'd show up when someone dies. I bet killboard devs would adapt pretty fast and create some sort of ranking or similar for logistics, as everything with negative damage dealt could be easily filtered out and put into neat statistics etc.

Originally by: Zirconium Blade Unfortunately you would only appear on the killmails in which your target (your friend) dies in. Notice that all the ships in a killmail are performing an action on the ship that asplodes. You are performing a (to the computer) unrelated action on someone that is performing an action on the victim.
That is correct. Still, i think it would be a step in the right direction. Maybe we will see a complete overhaul of the killmail system someday anyways?

Edit: BTW Batolemaeus, I love your example in the OP, 534223 damage to kill a reaper! lol. And he did 533842 damage to the Helios with his civvy Gatling gun. What fun.
You read it wrong! :P
I did that much damage to the reaper, which got repaired by my junior, until he finally popped. ;)

Originally by: Sonya Rayner Actually, i prefer to stay incognito when flying logistics, hehe :)
With you name, maybe that would work.
With mine..well, i'm already primary because of my basilisk, plus i'm primary because of my name. Doesn't matter if i'm a well known logistics pilot outside my alliance or not, i'll still be primary ;)
