...that the proposed missile/launcher changes make certain Interceptors practically useless now?
"Says he that has a day to go on training Caldari Frigate 5"
No one that gave training this amount of time could be called a griefing alt indy ganker.
/me is not a happy bunny anymore TBH I am absolutely livid that I will more than likely have to do another 12 days training for another races frigate 5 skill.

I use my interceptor for intercepting.
I never expected to kill much with it, except maybe frigates. ------------------------------------------- "My main griveance with the Caldari state was that once I had finished my work for them, they wanted me dead."

I'm SO glad I chose to train Shield Management 5 (4 days 12hrs to go!!!) before training up for Interceptors.
I think I'll hold off on frigate 5 until I see how the land lies.

So if I understand corectelly... what makes certain interceptors usefull is their capacity to hold big missiles... So, what was the use of the other ones ?
.... You guess. All interceptors should be now more or less as usefull. And used for the purpose they were made : intercept.

interceptors arent meant to go toe to toe with cruisers. they are frigate killers and support ships. ________

I'll take guns with good bonuses for 500 Alex. A blaster Taranis has better DOT than just about anything this side of a Megathron.

I am also glad I didn't go for an interceptor skill. At the last minute, I decided to up some other skills instead. As Joshua said, it might be a good idea to just sit and wait for it all to settle in.
Just got to love seeing something worth going for; train the required days to make it happen, then see it not be as good (read: possible nerf) as advertised. Reminds of all those poor souls who trained for Deep Core Mining; yeah, they are happy to have a useless long training time skill in their skill sheet.
I am thinking the best time for me to train for an interceptor will be the DAY AFTER the next major patch comes in. That way, whatever I train for will have a bit of worthiness to it until the next patch to nerf it comes in.

Now spending my time on Rockets and standard missle skills....
But having stopped using Cruise and practiced with small and rockets (Backed up with limited light hybrid) I have to say that I dont think the interceptor will be defunct...
I now use the Crow and mostly get Seek and Intercept missions. Strange that... an now I have taken a Moa and his three buddies with light missles I think the added capacity of the changes will make life much easier than my practicing now.
I see a glass half full.

You know what's bugging me about this change? Unless I am getting the 10 second ROF wrong, it means it's going to take forever to get our missiles in the air. If we're going to be restricted like this, missile rof needs to be VASTLY reduced. Like rockets every .5 seconds, standards every 1-2, heavies every 4, cruises every 10 or so.

Flavour of the month balancing sucks.
Next time somebody finds something fun can you please shut the f**k up about it so that it's not removed from the game.

Well, personally IÆm used to all these f**king nerfs now...
I trained Acceleration Control to level 5 = 1,024,000 skill points (approx. 1 month training time). CCP nerfed the skill soon after with the 'slow everyone down' patch.
I trained Deep Core Mining to level 5 = 1,536,000 skill points (approx 6 weeks training time) AND Mercoxit Refining to level 5 = 1,280,000 (approx. 5 weeks training time) in a hope DCM would be a true specialist skill. CCP continue to make the skill a joke since Morphite continues to flood into the game from ores OTHER THAN Mercoxit.
Trained Evasive Maneuvering to level 5 = 512,000 skill points (2 weeks training time) AND Interceptors to level 4 = 181,000 skill points (1 week training time). CCP now make Interceptors practically useless with the latest nerfs.
Trained Torpedoes to level 4 = 181,000 skill points (1 week training time) AND Cruise missiles to level 4 = 226,000 Skill points (approx. 1 week training time). Basically forcing me to fly Battleships to get use out these 2 particular skills. I donÆt particularly want to fly Battleships - much preferring Cruisers and Frigates.
All in all, CCPÆs nerfs and changes have effected, to the detriment imho, over 5 MILLION skill points (20 weeks training time) on 2 of my characters.

You had me in stitches Del!
That is so friggin' funny!
You can hope that maybe the 'proposed' stuff is just that, proposed. If there was anytime in which we could trade in useless skills in for something useful; this would be a time I would say yes to allowing it to be done.
DCM was limited to the few who dared to dream and commit; and now all of them should just be committed.
Really though, it wasn't your fault that DCM was nerfed; or that ACCEL was nerfed; but it probably would have been nice to know that it was being nerfed before you wasted all that time to get to a good level.
