The point made was that the writer of the news didn't make the name up, this is player driven story. It just so happens that one of the players driving it (I taught him everything he knows btw  ) has a name with a number in it. Not ideal, but not the fault of the writer, or a player who named himself 9 months before he made the news.

It destroys all form of RP(what little we even have) when names like that are used in news reports.. If you've ever played a hardcore online RPG(be it MMO or not) there are usually strict name rules enforced, particularily when characters are to take part in game storylines..
GMs and Devs seem to have no problem changing player's names based on their(the GMs and Devs) religious/political/moral beliefs; apply that to RP as well..

I'm not supporting this (I don't like "l33t" names either in RP) but CCP didn't make a policy of having "believable" names at the start so here we are 12 months since release and guess what? We can't change this now so we'll have to make due with all the l33t guys out there that chose to be l33t.....

No seriously it's too late....this is a player driven game so eventually someone with a name like this would have to make the news.

So, in this sci-fi game that presumably takes place in the future there is no possibility that there is a young person that finds it cool to spell their name wackily? Or call themselves Bleach in the first place...or Tease. If this were a historical period game that took place before our modern pop culture maybe that would be slightly valid, although I don't see how a person's name can "destroy" anything. I'd be more interested in their reporting on the EVE world. I think the quality of someone's work will tell me more than how they spelled their name. |

They could have at least made a name like Raik "PrayforMojo" Lienet. Use the non rp name as the pilots callsign.

Oh yeah and the title is spot on.It is a new low!!To think someone that has a letter in thier name should be any less able to write or be in the news is just idiotic(new low).Who knows maybe the guy wanted the name,though someone had alrdy used it. One of the most easy ways to remedy this is to add a 3 for the E. Also I play alot of online games, u might want to get used to people using them type of scripts. I would just get over it, Who knows what names will look like or if they will even container letters in future. lol.This is funniest/sadest/worst post ever congrats on that.

if my memory doesn't fail me,
some of you people have actually asked ccp to write
real-game news that involve players and alliances and such,
instead of their usual story-related stuff
now get this, it's the players who name themselves and they should be blamed,
although, from my expirience even some players with rather dumb names
can be pretty good roleplayers.
